Jay Weber Show transcript 12-3-25

I said on social media yesterday: the decision to allow cameras into the cabinet meetings and allow at least a portion of them to be seen by the public was a great idea by the Trump team.

I know they have been doing it routinely since the start of the second term, here, but it does a few things:

First, it’s a reminder to voters that Joe Biden and his regime was so secretive and Biden was such a hollow figure head that they never had cabinet meetings.

That’s the first thing it does:contrast the vibrant and energetic and perpetually working Donald Trump…to the dementia, creaking, fragile old Biden.

The Biden regime held very few cabinet meetings. Virtually none in the second half of his presidency- Because in the final two years of it, Jill and the close staffers surrounding Biden were trying their best to keep Biden’s failing physical and mental health a secret.

And I’m not guessing at this: both media and house investigations after Joe Biden was gone have confirmed that this was what was going on. Numerous members of Biden’s own cabinet- once it was over and Biden’s degraded state and the media coverup was over-several members did interviews saying- we never saw joe. They wouldn’t give us access to joe. They were trying to keep us away from him, so we didn’t see the decline, obviously.

So, that’s the first thing these televised cabinet meetings do: they make it clear Trump, and his team are on top of things.

Which leads to the second thing they do: they make it clear to the American people that Trump’s cabinet members are keeping numerous plates in the air and are doing all sorts of good work for the American people: whether it’s Sean Duffy finally fixing our air trafficking system…or Brooke Rollins, the Ag secretary… explaining how she is going to crack down on the blue states next week that refuse to release their food stamp figures…etc.

These cabinet meetings prove ‘things are getting done. We are keeping our promises to voters, etc.’. You can see us working, here.

And to that end- because trump allows more of the meeting to be televised- it’s a chance for the American people to hear from the president and his team -directly- and in somewhat longer form than normal. I tell you- all sorts of news come out of these cabinet meetings now- with this format- because it’s all being said in front of a known audience.

Sure, several of the lefty tv outlets refuse to televise it, and sure most of the lefty newspapers and news outlets are going to ignore 90 percent of the updates and positive actions that the cabinet members are detailing…

But because the tv feed exists and the conservative news stations and news sites are going to cover a lot of that stuff-and because it’s circulated so widely on social media afterward-the word is going to get out.

Televising these things and going around the room to let each official tell the rest of them what he or she has been working on is an ingenious twist on the cabinet meeting in the trump era.

Traditionally, the meeting would be held behind closed doors. The updates would have been detailed for the others in secret. And then afterward, the president would agree to let some pool reporters in to take photos and video of the table…and catalog the event….and ask a few questions of the president…. why may allow a cabinet member to answer them…but that’s it.

It was always cursory coverage with very little actual news coming out of it. Trump’s method, here, is a smart one. For example- at yesterday’s meeting president trump said that the traffic of ‘drug boats’ in international waters between South America and the US is down 91 percent since he started to treat the people in them as narco-terrorists and started sinking them. Drug trafficking using that method is down 91 percent. That’s fantastic.

So much for the fake controversy over the double-tap strike on one boat in September. Even the NY Times investigated further and agrees that Pete Hegseth gave no such ‘second strike’ order… and that even if someone would have…. Like, the Admiral who did….it was legal. Mollie Hemmingway of the Federalist was shocked that the NY Times would engage in an act of journalism here

Meanwhile- it took a day for ‘real’ military legal experts to chime in, instead of dimwit democrats and social media trolls… and they largely agreed that neither Hegseth nor the admiral did anything wrong: if the mission is to sink the boat and kill the narco-terrorists…then the mission is to sink the boat and kill the narco-terrorists…and the number of strikes you need or the types of weapons you use are immaterial.

This is yet another ‘fake news’ story to accomplish the goals that i outlined yesterday: it’s just another distraction to try to try to slow down the trump team and knock them off their game….because the democrats don’t have any ‘real’ power in dc or any ‘real’ way to stop them, currently, aside from the senate filibuster…which only comes into play in certain instances.

And unlike a democrat administration- we have the trump white house and pentagon whose members fully cooperated and quickly got the facts out…

And unlike a democrat congress that’s going to reflexively protect its own party. These republican congressional leaders are vowing to do a full investigation, anyway, just to make sure there was no illegal or unethical behavior here. Fine. They won’t find any.

Yesterday, a few members of the senate foreign relations and armed services committees admitted to reporters that…yes…. the rubio state department and the trump white house have kept congressional leaders funny informed on these strikes, yes. When are they going to occur and why. Who’s on the boat. How it went, etc.

None of this is widely reported by the accomplice news media…but folks…it -is-the type of transparency that was greatly lacking during the Obama and Biden presidency…and let’s not pretend it isn’t.

This president and the Trump administration have been refreshingly honest about what they are doing and why. Sure, sometimes, we only learn they have done something ‘after the fact’...but then they go on to explain why they didn’t tell the public beforehand and…what has been done.

I’m quite impressed by how forthcoming this trump team has been. But Marco rubio, the sect of state, explained why during yesterday’s cabinet meeting. He said, everything this president does, and orders, is always done with the American people in mind. His tone suggested that he found this as remarkable as I do: whatever the issue. Whatever the challenge. Donald trump, apparently really does, tailor his actions and motivations to ‘what is best for the country and the American people.’

Again-that’s what the job is -supposed-to be about, and yet, very few presidents of this era have operated that way…. or were motivated in that manner.

Trump is also -clearly-not intimidated by the leftist media and the never-ending smears. It’s why he never blinked on this latest Pete Hegseth smear. The president called the media out on it in an amusing way, yesterday, by acknowledging that most of these reporters in the room will never write the positive news that came out of the cabinet meeting

You heard the cabinet members laughing. I assume some reporters were laughing. And everyone in the room knew trump ‘wasn’t wrong’...even if some of them would never admit it. Trump also had what the lefty media labeled ‘a rant’ on affordability. Trump, again said, that term doesn’t mean anything when it’s coming out of a democrat’s mouth.

Again. Everyone in the room knows he’s right…. but virtually none of the reporters or assembled media outlets are going to write the stories outlets are the fact the democrats are now pivoting to blame their failures of the last four years…on Trump. JD Vance hammered that point home.

Not even one of those reporters in that room has the guts or the integrity to ‘really’ inform the American people. Which is why Trump and his team try to go ‘over and around’ the traditional news media with events like this cabinet meeting…whenever they can.
