Jay Weber Show transcript 11-21-25
When President Trump and his team moved aggressively to kill off racist and discriminatory ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in both government and academia- I said- the proof will be in the ‘follow up’.
It was clear that, the way the left works, they weren’t going to give up these races based and ‘social justice’ based efforts willingly. Nearly all major universities immediately shifted to try to rename and/or hide their Dei programs.
Because-if the American and global left cannot play ‘grievance games and identity politics…they’ve got nothing else to offer. The very fact that they invented ‘Dei’ in the faculty lounges of our universities proved it: for a while there in the late 90s and early 2000s, it looked like this country was genuinely ‘moving past’ race…
And so, if their racial grifts and scams were going to continue, the activist and grievance left decided they needed to reteach racism to new groups of young people…and keep doing so…to keep their scummy game going. They aren’t about to give it up easily.
A presidential administration can ‘declare it dead’, sure, but whether it’s killed off…is in the follow up. And that’s left to the civil rights division and all sorts of local ‘good government’ and ‘first principals’ groups…and all the people who file lawsuits against the continued injustice.
And so, 8 or 9 months later, it’s great to see ‘follow through’. I’ve got a few stories here, including one related to the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty right here in SE Wisconsin-which has made it its mission to target and end the sort of racially discriminatory programs that have pervaded government and academic institutions. Will has already done some great work, just over the last few years: just since an important supreme court ruling….and the Trump administration reforming our civil rights laws to target Dei and racial discrimination.
This week…will filed a major lawsuit against the trump administration, itself….which sounds bad…but this is how you approach lawsuits against government bodies. In fact, this is will’s fifth lawsuit pending against the trump administration. Each pending lawsuit is based on unlawful race-based programs run by federal agencies. In this instance, will is suing the small business administration…which continues to have all sorts of ‘race based’ and ‘gender based’ grant programs. Based on that supreme court ruling-and trump’s own moves to kill off Dei- these are illegal.
And since you need standing to sue…will is suing on behalf of a private business- a tech group- And on behalf of the Young America Foundation.
What is being targeted here, are grants and programs for so-called…. socially disadvantaged individuals. That phrase has become the code for ‘race based’...and will’s lawsuit claims the small business administration is entrenched with programs that are based on racial discrimination. Whoever gets grants, loans, contracts, and other benefits is based on race. That’s illegal. Plain and simple. And so, this is a good example of how it takes actual work. Lawsuits and aggrieved parties…if we are really going to root all this stuff out and eliminate it.
Dan Lennington of will says: The use of the phrase “socially disadvantaged individuals “as a euphemism for race discrimination and it exploded during the Biden administration, which established dozens of race-based programs under the three fraudulent, big spending mega-bills the democrats passed: American rescue plan act, the inflation reduction act, and the bipartisan infrastructure bill.
Will catalogue over 100 of these programs and says, Although the trump administration has successfully dismantled many programs, there is more work to be done.
Dan Lennington’s direct quote is:, “in our previous cases, we challenged several specific Biden-era programs that discriminated based on race. We won. But now is the time for a new strategy that targets the nerve center of many of the remaining Dei programs: the preference for the so-called ‘socially disadvantaged.’ as several courts have already recognized, this is just a code word for race discrimination, and we plan to eliminate its use once and for all.”
Fantastic. And the group of young conservatives that Scott walker leads, is a plaintiff. Their lawyer, Madison Hahn, stated, “for far too long students have suffered under governmentally imposed caste systems that picks winners and losers based on race. YAF is proud to take this step toward disestablishing race-based discrimination against students. Fantastic.
And since the current administration is ‘in agreement’ with will’s overall effort- it’s likely that -once this is brought to the white house’s attention- quick changes and settlements will be made. You’d hope.
Meanwhile, trump’s own administration is continuing to fight against private and public colleges and universities who’s leftist leaders simply….by god…will not give up their Dei.
this week, Marco rubio’s department- The state department-
Announced that fit was cutting funding to 38 universities who still have Dei policies. All sorts of government agencies are in the routine of giving grants and funding to researchers at universities, obviously, because it’s a great way to have some of the brightest academics and students working on important domestic and global problems- right?
Well…in this instance…the state department is cutting their funding to universities whose leaders refuse to give up the racist and discriminatory nonsense they call ‘Dei’. And these are some of the big schools that continue to refuse, refuse, refuse….to simply agree to comply by our civil rights laws…and so the trump team has every right to do this.
It’s not a mistake that those are universities that have since cut deals…or shown the trump administration…that they are complying with our civil rights laws. Columbia famously cut a deal and promised reforms after the trump administration finally held them accountable for all of the antisemitism and anti-American protests their faculty and students held on campus…
But the leaders at the other ivy’s have chosen to dig in and …by God…try to outlast the trump administration. They might be able to if voters flip flop right back to the left, again, and give the executive branch back to the democrats in 2028…but if a President Vance or rubio wins in 2028, i don’t see how these universities can continue to hold out on ending their racial and gender discriminations unless they are willing to operate without significant federal funding. The point is: we are seeing ‘follow thru’ on President Trump’s anti-Dei, anti-discriminatory executive orders and directives.
It’s one thing to ‘say it’. All sorts of past presidents have pretended to make big changes by simply issuing an order….and then putting no effort into the follow up. It’s great to see that- even now that the rest of the country…and the MSM…has moved on to something else…. that we’ve got the Trump administration itself, and outside groups like will, by God, focused on the mission: racism is racism. Playing racial favorites is wrong. We are going to end this.
As the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Roberts, wrote as part of a 2007 decision: “The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.”
That quote has become famous over time, because it says it plainly: if today’s activist left and today’s democrat party really want us to stop discriminating based on race in this society- they! - need to stop creating programs that discriminate based on race.
Correct?
Because they are the ones doing it: in their perpetually divisive political games… and in their bullying policies.
