You might have seen this-but I get a kick out of it: with the democrat party in shambles and at a complete loss- as to how to get back on track-
The Democrat National Committee is doing an autopsy on their 2024 loss- without- focusing on Joe Biden’s decision to run again and the need for party leaders to force him out-
Or what followed-
Nor- are they going to look at what Kamala Harris and her campaign did wrong....as they spent two billion dollars in all of three months...only to lose, anyway.
That’s right: the ‘deep dive’ autopsy into what went wrong for the democrats in 2024- is not going to include- an honest analysis-
Or even a review of- what went wrong’.
Then I don’t know how the DNC can call this an autopsy....and it’s destined to fail to lead to any substantive changes or revelations.
What a farce.
Some of you will remember after mitt Romney’s loss-Reince Priebus called for an honest ‘deep dive’ autopsy into why republicans lost in 2012...and he was generally skewered for suggesting it: why drag up all the mud? Why waste money on this?
But...
It turned out to be a smart decision...and even if some of its findings were brutal....it led to a ‘smarter’ party moving forward, and the trump wins of 2016 and 2024. Trump’s wider appeal to minority voters isn’t simply ‘happenstance’ or uniquely because of trump.
It was one of the findings of the RNC’s 2016 autopsy report: we need to do better connecting with minorities and working class voters-
And they have.
But you must be willing to do an honest autopsy for it to be worth anything. And according to the left’s own ‘bible’, the NY Times, today’s DNC leaders aren’t willing to be.
After the election in fall- we talked about how it was primarily the four terrible, awful, craptacular years of the joe Biden/Kamala Harris regime that had voters swinging over to vote for president trump: make no mistake-the single biggest failure of the democrat party during the Biden era-was Biden-and the decisions that he and his close circle made...on behalf of the country. One was more disastrous than the next.
Equally sharing the blame-should be the democrat lawmakers in dc who voted to spark never-ending, 40-year high inflation and waste trillions of dollars in taxpayer money on green energy nonsense and DEI and efforts to reteach racism and move to socialism.
That’s what the autopsy should say.
At the very least- it should acknowledge that today’s democrat party is on the wrong side of every significant 80/20 issue.
But, according to the NY Times, it won’t even say that: instead, it will blame all the super-PACs and activist groups for ...apparently? not doing enough to get a stellar candidate like kamala elected...even after a triumphant four-year Joe Biden presidency? Or something?
Well, that really is- doing the party a disservice...if that’s the conclusion. That’s the DNC going out of their way to sweep the very significant failures of 2024 under the rug to make everyone feel better-as they continue this destructive and unsustainable path.
As an example- did you know that- with all their other problems? Democrat governors are increasingly at war with the labor unions.
Fantastic.
Politico is raising the alarms over blue state governors not rolling over to the govt sector unions, in particular, and suggesting it’s going to cost the democrats even more support.
But folks-
The beef seems to be that governors Newsom, Walz, and polis...etc. Won’t let govt workers work from home.
Honestly.
When you boil down the story-that seems to be the labor union’s biggest beef. And if that’s the case-their whining isn’t rational- and these democrat governors would be right to hold their ground.
These are the things that upset labor union leaders in the blue states. They think their governors should be allowing them to work from home....and protect illegals from ice...and... what? Pay for transgender surgeries...etc.
Because- it means that it is ‘the workers’ and ‘their unions’ who are out of step with the voting public, not the other way around- as they insist is the case-in this story.
Apparently, California’s union leaders don’t care if they want to be able to work from home-and want Newsom to fight ice. Or he’s useless to them.
Okay...so...which side is out of step with the American voters?
And apparently, this beef about having to report back to work in an office building is the biggest one.
In New York Kathy Hocul and Eric Adams are ‘much hated’ by the city and state workers who were ordered ‘back to work’ in their office buildings, again.
Okay-then this is petty selfishness and whining out of pampered and protected government workers- and it shouldn’t even be taken seriously.
But hey-if it makes life even more miserable for turds like Tim Walz and Gavin Newsom, I’m okay with that.
It’s a good illustration of how petty, self-centered, and out-of-touch many of today’s rank and file democrat voters are, though. It’s all about ‘them’ and ‘what they get’....and never about seeing the larger American picture.
And it’s why a socialist fraud like Zohran Mamdani managed to win the mayoral primary in New York a few weeks ago.
