Listeners are wondering if the autopen scandal is going to lead to any ‘consequences’ for Joe Biden’s presidential team...or any criminal charges against Anthony Fauci, or Hunter Biden, or any of the people who thought they have pardons...etc.
And the short answer is ‘no’.
This is another scandal that-in the grand importance of things- should not be put ahead of the nation’s ‘real’ problems...or congress’ real’ work...
It’s another one of these congressional efforts where-in republican lawmakers want to follow the trail like a pack of dogs. Hold hearings. Do depositions. Get to the bottom of things- and we, the people, do deserve answers on all these things...
But in this modern era-they only really turn out to be timewasters. Because the actors involved almost never really do come clean. They never really are forced to testify honestly. The house investigations that result in putting out ‘some’ of the additional facts or laying out what happened-never do- include criminal referrals for any of the dc scumbags who have been caught breaking the law-
And so, no. Don’t expect any significant fallout from any official congressional investigation of this now. No.
And by the way-the ‘scandal’ is that the autopen was used illegally by Biden staffers who were running the country -instead of having the actual, elected president do it.
It has a few parts-including the scandal related to the fact that Joe Biden obviously had no genuine idea who the nearly 8-thousand criminals he pardoned were.But is there any genuine chance that they all go back to jail or have their clemency reversed?
No.
Then there’s the part of the scandal related to the people who were closer to Biden whom he pardoned: family members. Members of the deep state who trump didn’t like and democrats saw as potential trump targets.
But remember- most of those pardons were done pre-emptively: as in, none of those people were actually charged, criminally, with anything, aside from Hunter. Anthony Fauci wasn’t facing any criminal charges. Nor was general Milley, nor were Biden’s brothers and
In-laws, etc.
That category of pardons was more about making sure trump’s dept of justice didn’t come after them once they got into office and found any potential criminality or wrong doing that they were tied to.
And so, no.Don’t expect a big reversal of pardons here...or any new charges facing any of these people. No.
For all of the controversy and fire surrounding this as we get more of the truth out- no- i don’t see any actual ‘consequences’ for anybody or reversal of pardons.
No.
I hate to disappoint you, but that’s’ not where this is going.
Yet again, it’s about getting to the truth and getting the story right for posterity and the history books now, and that’s about it.
But don’t get me wrong: I’m not downplaying this. It’s another important and terrible constitutional scandal that this era of democrats has perpetrated on the country.
What we learned on Sunday-due to a New York times report whose reporters and editors-still- tried to spin as positively for the Biden regime as possible-
We learned that pardons approved for thousands of people-including high profile names like Fauci and general Milley-were signed with an autopen- after a process that President Biden -largely-wasn’t involved in.
Jeff Zients was caught over and over again- while his time on Biden’s staff- issuing orders out of nowhere that didn’t really seem to be linked to- or approved by- Biden. Many of them are related to covid.
Zients was clearly one of the people who was taking it upon himself to run the country because joe Biden was losing his mind...and needed his rest...and was only reliably lucid between about 10 and 3 each day.... etc.
If any group of people should be in prison for hiding Biden’s infirmities and running the country as a shadow president-Jeff Zients should be in that group.
The scuttlebutt in dc yesterday was that the people around Biden are now ‘newly panicked’, because just as they are being subpoenaed to testify in front of James Comer’s house investigatory committee....Biden decides to do his first ‘real’ interview in five years and has actually made matters worse for them-based on what he just told the NY Times. And how he characterized the operation.
As he left office-Biden ludicrously claimed that he’d made the decision on something like four-thousand pardons and commutations.
On Sunday he told the NY Times that.... well. He had a general idea. He gave his staff a list of ‘basics’ in terms of the type of people he was willing to pardon....and they basically made the list from there. Then- he might have checked it once...but by the article’s own admission and as verified by White House emails the times reporters saw-
Then the list went thru several more revisions that Biden never saw before Zients or Tanden or other advisors okayed it to be auto signed.
A president is supposed to at least be ‘on top of’ this process and aware of who it is that’s being pardoned. Biden was clueless.
What a shock.
Moreover, he signed the pardons for Hunter and his close family members-with his own hand- meaning that the Bidens and their team were ....at least nervous...or questioning...whether an autopen signature on a pardon was legal or valid.
Correct?
President trump was asked about this yesterday, and said, look-the autopen is supposed to be reserved for all the sillier or ceremonial actions of the White House- not this.
Biden can pretend now, all he wants, but the internal emails and documents prove what went on
That’s the answer to: how do you possibly pardon four thousand people at the last minute-and over 8-thousand people over the course of a four-year administration-and possibly know who you’re pardoning?
The answer is: Biden didn’t.
The answer is: none of them really did. They just relied on the advice, or brief descriptions, from low-level staffers.
Which helps explain how -genuinely- how terrorists, child molesters, and murderers were included on that list of presidential clemencies.
Do you really think this is how the founders-and the 45 presidents who came before Biden- thought this is how it should be done?
Even Biden and Zients’s claim that they held a few ‘late night sessions’ to talk this all thru.... seem bogus. As other people have pointed out: math doesn’t even work on this.
You can’t go thru a list of 4-thousand criminals in the matter of a few hours...especially with a man who ‘sundowns’ after 5pm. Come on.
Ron Kleine, jeff Zaentz, Neera Tanden, etc.-should be in federal prison for covering up Biden’s decline and taking it upon themselves to run the country. There is nothing in the constitution or the law that gives them that authority.
I’d also remind you that Joe Biden is also the first president in u-s history-
The first president out of 45- who decided to engage in mass pardons of people whom- he and the democrats claimed- hadn’t committed crimes and shouldn’t have needed pardons.
Who really made those decisions? Because you know that-beyond protecting Hunter and their circle of relatives who had all participated in their foreign influence peddling schemes-
The Bidens didn’t really care what happened to any of these other people- from Fauci to Milley to Susan Rice...etc. Folks-the members of the scummy group generating all the pre-emptive pardons- gave themselves pre-emptive pardons! People like Zients and Tanden!
Everything about these pardons -reeks- of corruption.
