Trump's cabinet far exceeds expectations

I love this headline: California has ten days to kick biological males out of girls’ sports...or risk the loss of federal funding.

One of the fun things about this new Trump era-as someone who has done this job for as long as i have- is the ‘relentless’ march of good news...and the relentless march of the trump agenda.

In his first term-i called him the plate spinner-because he is the only president i have seen-in my lifetime- who can keep five or six or seven issues spinning and moving forward at the same time.

Well-

In term two- I might have to start calling him the bulldozer- because he’s got virtually every issue that you can think of- and is important to him- out in front of the blade and is just forcing them all forward at the same time.

And it has been phenomenal to watch.

It’s also the result of a genuinely stellar second term cabinet-which includes some people who- i will admit-didn’t initially impress me.

But trump’s instincts were correct-and he’s got cabinet members atop every department who are operating the bulldozers on their own.

Name a cabinet-and Trump’s got someone working the bulldozer for him as he does other things.

At education? It’s Linda McMahon-

In fact, she’s been very impressive so far, shoving numerous important education and title-nine issues forward at the same time.

At transportation? It’s Sean Duffy. He’s making news every day. It is gladly taken on the challenge of rebuilding and modernizing our air traffic control system. Is moving to block stupid and never-ending left wing transportation projects like the California train project.

Yesterday- he made news for saying- we are not going to allow the American taxpayers to rebuild the roads and infrastructure that is being destroyed by these left-wing rioters.

This wasn’t even an issue until yesterday. But he says- there’s a pattern of blue states and cities letting their own supporters do damage...then requesting federal funds to fix it.

Love it. Love everything about that answer.

But- at EPA- Lee Zeldin is dismantling decades of eco-zealotry and activism that’s taken hold there.

At energy. At homeland security. Trump has cabinet members and czars that are operating their own bulldozers- 24/7.

It was impressive to hear- this week-that Kristi Noem and Tom Homan were ‘ahead of the game’ when it came to identifying and arresting potential Iranian threats who are in this country illegally.  I tell you- no other presidential regime I have covered would be doing that.

It's Witkoff in foreign affairs...and Hassett and Bessent at treasury cutting trade deals...

It's across the board: Trump’s second term team is stellar.

But back to California- where Linda McMahon’s education department notified them:

And California will fight it. And they will chew up millions of state taxpayer dollars in the process. And they will lose, anyway.

And if Gavin Newsom is dumb enough to run for president in 2028- he will have to answer for it. Especially given-as McMahon noted yesterday-he has even stated that boys shouldn’t be in girls’ sports as a matter of fairness.

And so- why is he allowing it?

There is ‘no part’ of this fight that democrats individually- or collectively – ‘win on’ – if they choose to fight it.

Also-by coincidence- get this: there’s a new study out by researchers- who say boys run faster than girls-even before puberty hits.

The point they are making is: even these boys can’t compete in girls’ sports unless they are put on hormone treatments before they hit puberty’ rule that’s in place in most sports now-

Even that’s bologna.

It will be interesting to see if this study ‘changes the conversations around boys in girls’ sports-yet again.

As I say- it’ll be interesting to see whether this new batch of studies starts to gain traction-and change the conversation around boys in girls’ sports...yet again.

I think a real ‘side issue’ here when it comes to younger children in competition is it simply doesn’t matter as much.

Do most parents care if their six- or nine-year old’s soccer team is strictly ‘same sex’...or if it’s co-ed?

No. Not really.Because the differences in the skill levels between six- or nine-year-old girls and boys aren’t likely to be that pronounced, yet.

Moreover, what are we really ‘playing for’ here?

Who gets their juice boxes and orange slices first, after the game?

But- as kids get older-into middle and high school- the competitions-and the competition-get more important. Stakes rise. Scholarships and official rankings are on the line, etc.
