America's military action will pay dividends in the long run

Jay Weber Show transcript 6-25-25

If this is true- it means that President Trump’s handling of the Iran crisis is already paying dividends in the middle east I saw a few reports on social media suggesting that Lebanon and Syria are talking about joining the Abraham accords-

Wow. That’d be great.

These are the economic accords dreamt up by President Trump, Jared Kushner, and Mike Pompeo- to approach middle east peace from a different angle: from an economic angle.

As in- you can all become reliable economic and trade partners with Israel and all benefit...rather than holding onto tribal grudges that are thousands of years old...and killing each other.

Trump and his team got about five smaller middle eastern countries to agree to engage-economically-with Israel and the benefits have been real and noticeable ever since.

Sadly, the Biden regime did ‘little or nothing’ to nurture Trump’s breakthroughs, but at least the existing accords ‘held’ thru Biden’s disastrous regime.

Now Trump is trying to build on them-in the hopes that the region’s 800 lb. gorilla- Saudi Arabia- will agree to normalize relations with Israel thru economic ties. That would be a game change.

But-if a Lebanon that is now largely ‘free’ from Hezbollah’ control of their southern region...and if a new regime in Syria want to join them- that’d be some ‘new winning’ for trump and the west, in the wake of this move to deal with Iran.

Apparently, it isn’t only the Israelis who are feeling safer because of the events of the last two weeks or so.

In fact, NBC-

Yes- NBC- had a pretty interesting admission: Iran’s Arab neighbors have largely turned their backs on Iran’s regime...after years of vowing to support it in the ‘war against the great Satan’.

It turns out-their leaders were just afraid of these crazy SOB’s BS who oversaw Iran, and close to getting nukes.

So... for more than one reason...these other middle eastern countries whose leaders have aligned with Iran...or tolerated Iran and put on a welcoming face.... are now happy Iran’s regime has been neutered.

I’m betting that most of them would be even happier if there was regime change there, but at least one expert quoted in this same NBC piece says- others would worry that the regime that replaced these old kooks would be even more unstable and alarming.

As for why Lebanon and Syria might suddenly be interested in economic ties to Israel and doing things differently?

Well- Israel has crippled Hezbollah in southern Lebanon-and done so as Iran’s leaders sat back and watched-

Which angered the Hezbollah leaders and fighters who- even if they still exist as a concern inside Lebanon- are no longer terribly interested in standing up for Iran’s regime-which they feel abandoned them when the ‘war with the little Satan’ started.

The tribal and political alliances and loyalties are shifting dramatically over there and were even before president trump decided to have America bomb the hardest targets in Iran.

Now, all sorts of Arab leaders are recalibrating their situations-and who their friends and enemies are. Which is a good thing- if they are shifting in favor of ‘normalization’ and a more stable and peaceful region.

They don’t have to all like each other...but they need to be willing to agree to ‘live next to’ each other...or even ‘cooperate with each other’ to the benefit of their own communities.

It’s too bad that the evil mullahs who have been brutalizing and victimizing their own people- 92-million people in Iran- for decades- are still clinging to power...

But....I agree that regime change should not have been the primary goal- and could yet come.

More importantly- ‘American interests’ were serviced, here, and in a major way.

The ayatollah and this close group of leaders could fall to an ‘inside coup’.

Either way-they won’t be bothering or threatening the larger western world for some time....and that’s reassuring.

Trump advisor Stephen Miller was on Fox News...and wanted to emphasize just how rare and historic this moment is- because he knows the members of the news media aren’t going to give president trump and his pentagon team the credit they deserve.

MILLER: “Well, let’s just take a moment to think about how historic this moment is and what President Trump has achieved in this 12-day war. Presidents going back to Bill Clinton have said it is the policy of the U.S. government not to allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon, but under every president except Trump, Iran marched closer and closer to being able to put onto a ballistic missile a nuclear warhead that could take out an entire city. That has been the direction Iran has been going in year after year. President Trump took action, flawlessly, through the United States military to obliterate Iran’s nuclear sites and to stop them, through the use of military force, from having a nuclear weapon. It was a bold, courageous action, and it happened without a single leak, without a single solitary service member losing their life. Everyone said, who was a critic of this action, that it would lead to World War III, and instead we have a ceasefire and instead we have the beginnings of a new era of stability and peace and security in the Middle East. President Trump once again has demonstrated that he alone has the wisdom, the judgment, the strength and the courage to see this nation through the most dangerous challenges we face around the world, Sean.”

Miller is correct, of course.

So is Mark Levin, who is the one ‘credible’ person whom I’ve heard ask: why did we stop before the mullahs were dead?

Levin is Jewish, of course. Very pro-Israel and pro-strength.

And his take was: Trump did a great job here-but we need to deal with the mullahs

I guess so, yes.

But -if we’ve learned anything over the last 30 years, it’s that we cannot -force- a new form of government -or a new group of leaders- onto a group of people who don’t want it.

For example: if the Iranian people choose to rise up and depose their dictators and then ask the western governments for help in forming a new democracy- or a new democratic form of government- of course we would say yes and help them do that.

But if we try to force a new leader or a new form of government onto them-that they don’t want or cannot sustain-it’s only going to backfire on us.

And so- as disappointing as it is to still see the Ayatollah alive and in charge- well-

His fate us up to the Iranian people, now, unless he does something stupid and escalatory....and gives Israel or the u-s a reason to ‘take him out’ after all.

Yeah. That’s the way this is going to play out.

I also hope listeners understand that I am not one to heap effusive praise on president trump- or any elected official- who doesn’t deserve it.

And so-

I feel it’s right to echo Miranda Devine of the NY post and some of the other pundits who are praising trump as securing his place in history with his handling of Iran here, and a terrible, intractable, 45-year problem -and threat- for the west.

Imagine, Greg, military recruiters have already hit their yearly recruitment figures- four months early.

Imagine how recruitment figures are going to explode now- especially for the US Air Force.
