No Kings protests fall flat

Jay Weber Show transcript 6-24-25

You might have seen that the organizers of the so-called ‘no kings’ marches around the country a few weeks ago- have scheduled new ones for Independence Day.

Yeah.

Apparently the first ones didn’t really ‘take’...or really impress anybody. And so, they’re going to try again.

I must be honest with you: I have no idea what these leftists are hoping to accomplish with these never-ending protests.

Genuinely. The more protests they hold-the more ‘watered down’ and become useless. The more they are seen- the quicker they will become ‘wallpaper’ to the rest of us.Even more easily ignored.

Or worse: the more these America-hating leftists choose to disrupt our lives. Block our streets. Bang on our cars- the more damaging they are going to become for the democrat party and their causes.

Apparently, these ‘no king’s organizers are hoping to build them into something akin to the Black Lives Matter riots that the country saw after George Floyd’s death was misrepresented and used as a political rallying point. They want to fundraise hundreds of millions of dollars off of them....and force their leftist agenda onto us...as they did then...with ‘defund the police’ and ‘abolish ice’...etc.

The problem is: this ‘no kings’ protest is a pretend issue. It’s a ‘straw grievance’, if you will. It’s not real. Donald trump isn’t interested in being the king or threatening to turn America into a monarchy.

Moreover, he’s furthering the exact agenda that most voters in America voted in favor of-and want implemented.

It’s hard to convince people they are under the yoke of a king...when that person is finally doing what they-the voters- have been asking of their elected officials for decades now- and not getting.

We finally have a responsive and effective president and you’re labeling him a king...and whining?

Just- go away.

This crowd of activists just. Won’t....knock it off...because they do.... know how it’s hurting them...or their causes.

As one person quoted in the article puts it: radical politics generally does not accompany moderate self-awareness.

Exactly.

These hardcore, left-wing activists aren’t, in general, people with good judgement or people who have an honest opinion of themselves- are they?

And so how could they possibly understand how their little tantrums, riots, and protests are being perceived by the rest of us?

I think this analysis has several good points. It also misses two of the most obvious to me:

First-that there is clearly mental illness involved here- with most of these activists, protestors, and rioters having mental problems...

And second....and this is probably related to the first issue.... but second.... I genuinely believe these are lonely, mentally unstable people who are simply looking for some place to ‘belong’. To ‘fit in’. To ‘matter’ or ‘be seen’.

I swear to you- this is probably 80 percent of what this is:  these are Americans who are lonely, and isolated, most are self-loathing, and at least a little mentally unbalanced. And are looking to fit in.

I-honestly-believe this is the allure of joining these protest groups and protests.  This is a group of fellow weirdos who will let me in...and call me friend.

If you question that: consider that there was core of ‘capitol singers’ who met every noon at the State capital to sing the same old repertoire of ‘protest songs’ and fuel their hate for Scott Walker...years after he left office. Years.

Some of them might still be singing every afternoon, for all I know. But that’s mental illness...or extreme loneliness, my friend.

That defines looking for a place to fit in and feeling like you’ve got friends: to turn up every day-or nearly every day-for years on end- to sing protest songs and ‘see my friends’.

Good grief.

I got to see my friends today. I can’t let em down. I got to be there. We got to stop Act 10.

Uhm...it’s 2022 and Scott Walker has been out of office for four years.

It doesn’t matter. I got to meet my friends. They’re going to wonder where I am.
