The so-called ‘no kings’ protests on Saturday
Sure- many of them in the larger cities were well attended...but most of them in the smaller cities only drew sparse attendance...to the point that some were canceled.
The one here in Milwaukee...was allegedly attended by ‘ten thousand’ people, according to the journal sentinel.
Most were peaceful. A few saw violence-including in Portland- where after the protest ended, some activists attacked an ice facility and had to be beaten back by law enforcement.
Most were peaceful. But...boring. Even liberal news outlets were calling them ‘unfocused’ and kind of bland.
One reason for that might be that -ahh.... We don’t have a king. Nor is president trump in any real danger of becoming one.
No one’s really buying this ‘Trump wants to be a dictator’ thing, aside from a small group of gullible and mentally ill leftists.
That might be one reason why these were rather bland and unfocused: because they were protesting a ‘fake thing’.
Another reason might be that -in most ways these really were ‘astroturfed’ events.
What I mean is: even if the overall number of participants was impressive in many cities...these were still only the ‘most committed’ of activists, voters, and gullible people participating.
The events were all organized by the local and statewide democrat parties and about 200 left-wing activist organizations.
Okay.
Along with nearly 200 left-wing activist groups and kook fringe groups.
So-to me- this was a naked display of how many people the left really has in its wingnut network is how I’d look at it.
We’ve talked about how this is an ‘omni-protest’ effort on the left, now: how all the activist groups are linked on a single activist wire or network...so they all rush out to protest for each other’s causes.
Okay, fine. So-when the democrat party and its’ 200 top activist organizations ‘called out all of the troops for Saturday’.... This is what you got.
I think we’ve seen- peak- lefty activist power here, my friends, and it simply wasn’t that impressive.
It makes me believe -even more-in what i was saying last week: if we, the people can ignore and plow thru this new wave of anti-Trump, anti-America leftist rage....i do believe we will have broken the backs of the left-wing activist network that has been so effectively manipulating and bullying the American people for the last decade-at least.
We have Soros DAs and judges on the run. We have DEI activists on the run. We have corporate America and academia rejecting it and hopefully-reverting to a more traditional form.
We have Trump’s deportations working along with a closed border to end that lawlessness. We have congress clawing back and stripping out bullying and wasteful green energy spending.
We really do- have the worst elements of the last 30 years on the left- on the run.
It’s one reason they have cranked themselves up into another raging tantrum only six months into Trump’s second term.
But it’s very different this time around. This seems far more like the ‘last gasp’ of a dying era of wokeism and bullying that we- the rest of us- can finish off and stamp out- if we just stick to our guns this summer.
I notice that the great Kimberly Strassel of the Wall St Journal is feeling the same way.
She wrote on Friday about the diminishing returns that these protests are bringing to the dems, now. And she’s right
Does that sound familiar? Because it’s right in line with what we have been saying on this program for some time, now.
