Jay Weber Show transcript 5-28-25
Most in the media have been focusing on Jake Tapper as the more famous of this ‘duo’ who write the book detailing Joe Biden’s decline and what was really going on in the Biden white house.
The other author is a guy named Alex Thompson of Axios. And he seems to have written most of the book-
I told you about the rumor that Thompson wrote it all but couldn’t get it published unless a bigger name was attached to it and so Tapper cut a deal to put his name on it and get a cut of the profits.
Whether that’s true or not-there’s no doubt that Alex Thompson did the bulk of the work, here.Jake tapper has his own ‘blow-dried’ little tv gig every night and must focus on that show.
Anyway- Alex Thompson is also doing interviews and admitted to Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday that- in term two?
In Biden’s term two? White House insiders weren’t even really hiding the plan. How was this going to go if a man who already-clearly-had dementia and was failing physically couldn’t do the job?
The answer was basically, hey, we’re basically already running the country, anyway, and ‘anything to stop Trump’.
That doesn’t surprise anyone in this audience-but i wanted you to hear it...if you missed it Sunday.
And it’s this sort of serial and intentional dishonesty that has today’s democrat party so distrusted and that has the bulk of the American people so disgusted with them.
These are not honest people. They aren’t patriots who want what’s best for America. These aren’t lieutenants taking over for a field general who has fallen on the battlefield.
These are America-hating Marxists who saw their opportunity to take advantage of a dementia Democrat who had been a traditional liberal for his entire DC career.
And yes, Joe Biden was always on the left edge of the spectrum when it came to ‘democrats in Washington’...but he was never a raging socialist. He always seemed to at least be a patriot who cared about the country...even if his political instincts were all wrong.
And so, I do think historians need to question whether jJe Biden ran as a centrist in 2020 only to fool the public....and then on his own...rushed to adopt the Bernie sanders agenda. ‘Build Back Better’ and all of that. Or whether he was an old man being manipulated by radical leftists who told them he would be the next FDR if he just signed whatever was put in front of him.
Either way-it’s clear that today’s democrat party has myriad problems- he most important of which seem to be:
-their tent has been taken over by socialists.
-they’re on the wrong side of every issue.
-they’re mostly America haters who are making the calls for the party.
-and they have no ‘seasoned’ or ‘savvy’ next generation to step up and lead....or to educate the rabid young activists they’ve groomed...because the world war two and baby boomer generations stayed so long....there are very few gen-xr’s to take over the reins of the party and be ‘smarter’ than the AOC’s and the David Hoggs...when it comes to running int.
How many Americans know that -in March alone- three democrat congressmen died?
It hasn’t gotten much attention, all things considered’, but it’s a big deal, because it gives speaker Mike Johnson more leeway to get the GOP agenda passed. A few GOP senators can even afford to miss a few votes....and Johnson will still have the numbers he needs to pass something.
For example: the big, controversial reconciliation bill passed on a single vote: 215 to 214.
Well- with 3 democrat vacancies- 215 was enough to pass it.
The Democrat congressman are old, and to be honest starting to pass on.
Yes, far more-so than the republicans, the democrats in both chambers of commerce really, really adhere to the seniority system. To the point that congressmen and senators can serve for ten years or more before they ever get an important committee assignment-and they must wait decades for a chairmanship.
A good example is Jerold Nadler of New York. He was always sort of a dope...but he rode seniority into chairing the house judiciary committee-and then by God, he was not going to give it up. This is the man who botched both impeachments and mucked up about a dozen other investigations for Pelosi....
This is the man who’s on video...appearing to poop his pants and then...sort of...sidle off to the bathroom during a news conference a few years ago. And he finally, finally, finally had to be shoved out of that spot by his fellow senior democrats.
None of them leave gracefully because it took them so long to get the gavel, themselves. That’s one reason the dems have so many more ancient members of congress than republicans do.
But republicans have their share, too.
David hogg is the ‘young gun’ being blasted for making it a major issue under the tent.
Yeah. I don’t know if there’s a delicate balance to be had here, because there aren’t many middle aged, experienced but younger’ lawmakers to step in and mediate and take the reins.
In short- the grandkid's are warring with the grandparents- and there’s no seasoned, reasonable middle-aged adults to step in and stop it and mediate the fight.
There are some dem congressmen in their late 40s, 50s or 60s....yes. But they are people like Tammy Baldwin and Kirsten Gillibrand and Marc Pocan- proverbial backbenchers who don’t have the brain power or the desire to lead.
And even those people are only a few years away from the normal retirement age of 65...so...who’s the ‘next generation’ of leaders?
Will democrats in congress just leapfrog right over generation x? Just hand the reigns to the 20 and early 30-somethings?
Or will some of these others in the middle step up and take over?
Because someone with a brain has to tell these young socialists that they aren’t going to win elections if they stay on their current path.
Listen to Mark Halperin...on his podcast yesterday...expressing surprise that the east coast democrat insiders are already ‘right back’ to believing ‘allowing Trump to fail’ is what’s going to return them to power.
Halperin has two regulars- Sean Spicer and Dan Turrentine, and they all agreed: it’s been nine years that Donald trump has been saying outrageous or odd stuff. Everyone sees it and knows what it is. He’s been a political powerhouse anyway, because he’s authentic and effective, and so...as Halperin put it: i cannot believe we are still having these conversations nine years later about ‘what trump said’ and how it’s going to ruin him.
Folks-Donald trump is in a ‘second term’ presidency. He’s reached the mountain top and literally-cannot climb higher.
And the dems are still thinking that he’s going to quickly crumble and go away.
Okay.Whatever.
It’s no wonder that Rahm Emmanuel sees a lane for himself in 2028.
This is another guy-one of only a few- who I’ve been saying ‘legitimately worry me’ in 2028. Because he’s smart and mercenary and has loads of experience...and worst of all...could sound reasonable and ‘right’....as he talks nonsense about democrat policies working.
The dems have stopped talking to the American people about what ‘we’ want. Period. They’ve simply stopped asking-and have instead tried to force socialism and massive govt fixes onto us that aren’t fixes.
Emmanuel at least sees that. Because he’s more of an ‘old school’ democrat. He’s 65 years old and helped Barrack Obama put the country on this ruinous path...
But...he’s at least smart enough to know what-not-to talk about during a campaign.
He’ at least smart enough to see the democrats are on the wrong side of every 80/20 issue-and for some moronic reason-they’re doubling and tripling down on it.
