(Play the winning open)
Remember my prediction in late January: Donald Trump will win virtually all these rushed lawsuits to stop him- eventually.
Well- late Friday-the DC court of appeals -which is chock full of liberals-issued a major ruling in Trump’s favor: they lifted one of those famous ‘injunctions’ that dozens of lower court judges have put on some of his executive orders-
And admitted that Trump has the executive authority to fire people and ‘right size’ government-
And- according to Jonathan Turley- constitutional expert and fox legal analyst- this ruling is bound to radiate out and affect other lawsuits of this sort- brought against president trump.
Currently, the president is facing several lawsuits related to his move to fire federal workers. Workers from different agencies. In different unions. Have sued-as trump and doge have made their moves.
And so-this could affect all of them. In this similar category...because...as Turley put it on x: the decision severely undercuts the arguments used by other district courts to block trump.
Friday’s ruling was related to the firing of about one-thousand air-of-America workers.
This means Trump’s team can go ahead and restructure the US agency for global media. Which includes the voice of America. Within it.
Trump and his team insist they are not eliminating this agency, or voice-of-America, but are simply modernizing it. Bringing it into the modern century.
But- as for why the decision sort of...radiates out...and affects the other cases:
So, this leaves about 13-hundred voice-of-America employees out of a job, apparently, with changes coming to the agency that runs it.
So- great news- that moves forward.
(play a winning cleanser)
This next bit of news is also a win for Trump and Musk’s downsizing effort: it turns out that more than 15-thousand employees at the USDA quietly decided to take Trump’s early ‘buyout’ offer...which means they can quit working now and get paid thru September, if they’d like...along with other buyout perks.
The ’win’ here- was the shock that the wash post and other news outlets thought only four thousand USDA workers had accepted the early buy-out, and so that’s the number they’ve been reporting.
Well- no.It turns out ten-thousand workers ‘on top of the initial 4 thousand...also took the early buyout. Which is great for us, as Americans. Great for Trump’s plan to reduce government. And as a bonus, we get the joy of seeing DC’s elites and media members be ‘shocked’, yet again.
This is a massive agency if 15-thousand people is only 15 percent of its work force....and it’s good to hear that Trump and Brooke Rollins are gunning for another 15 percent reduction.
So- that’s a ‘win’.
(play the cleanser)
The next win relates to simply getting our government employees ‘back to work’ after the Biden regime let them all work from home ‘years’ past covid.
In fact, the labor department says only 10 percent of federal workers worked-all-of their time from home.
Now- even before covid- some percentages of federal workers were telecommuting. In fact, some of our federal hires have never had an office or a federal building to report to. They were hired to work from home.
And so- it isn’t some ‘failure’ of Trump’s that ten percent are still working from home. In fact, that probably represents a smaller figure than those who were working from home before covid hit.
But this is another win toward president trump’s promise to make government more accountable, transparent, and efficient.
Trump ordered all workers back to their offices in January...and said at the time:
Also- remember there’s a federal hiring freeze that remains in effect. He put that in place until July...and after it expires...the rule for agency and department heads is apparently going to be you can only hire one employee for every four who leave.
That’ being fired. Retiring. Reassigned: if four leave. You can hire someone to fill the need you have. But that’s it.
I love it.
President and JD Vance-really- really-wanted to get our federal government back to the point that it was either being responsive to the American people-
Meeting a need of the American people-
Or not existing at all.
Hallelujah. That’s the way it should be...and always should have been.
The largest part of the doge effort...sort of. Unexpectedly....became about stripping out all of the parts of the federal government that weren’t created to serve the American people- and were, instead- created to serve the lawmakers and lobbyists and NGO grifters.... that has been layered into government over decades and decades.
And no, they won’t ‘get it all’. They won’t strip out all of the fraud, waste, and abuse-but these two men and the teams of people who are helping them are ‘very’ committed to the task...and it’s great to see. It’s a great win for the American people.
(play the cleanser)
And then there’s this: one of my favorite trump cabinet members-because he’s taking on one of the biggest challenges- with zeal: EPA head Lee Zeldin...former NY congressman...
Who is now promising to slash out all global warming related programs from the EPA get it refocused on its original mission-
And-and- return it to a ‘Ronald Reagan level’ of staffing.
Fantastic: forty years of bloat and drift and waste ...pared back.
As Elon Musk said months ago: they aren’t trying to ‘screw’ government employees. They aren’t happy about putting tens of thousands of people out of work. So, they’re willing to offer incentives for early buy outs and try to ‘do right’ by these people...
But .... layoffs are going to result.
We in the private sector ‘get it’...but those in the public sector-and especially in Washington dc- do not. Federal workers (and in general, govt workers’) never expect to lose their jobs. They all seem to be of the belief that they are ‘rock solid protected’ no matter what.
And in general? That has been the case for decades and decades.
But occasional downsizing does need to occur.
What trump and musk are doing appears to be ‘this era’s’ significant downsizing effort.
I’ve said for as long as I’ve been on WISN: I hate to see ‘anyone’ lose his or her job. I don’t celebrate anyone’s firing or loss of career. Every one of us should be able to put ourselves into that person’s place...and have some empathy.
But we also need to acknowledge that mass layoffs in the private sector barely get a ‘blink’ from the dc insiders and east coast media elites who are flipping out over layoffs in our federal government. Because it’s finally ‘their friends and relatives’ who are being laid off...and because everyone was certain they were all bullet proof. Bad things only ever happened to other people.
Correct?
It's an alarming crisis for them. It’s got them rallying every weekend against doge cuts...etc.
But...if Ford or John Deere or Walmart lay off ten thousand people, corporate wide, none of these people care one wit, or give it a second thought.
If-in four years- we are finally back to an accountable federal government where the workers worry about losing their jobs over poor performance?
My God will that be a massive win for the country.
