I’ve got to say- this was a slick move by President Trump to shift Mike Waltz over to UN ambassador.... instead of making it clear that he was being ‘fired’ as national security advisor.
But that does appear to what has happened. All of Washington DC knows it. It was reported in the media as Walz was being fired from this NSA position. Notably-
Very notably- the Trump White House wasn’t denying it yesterday as the rumors swirled that this was taking place.
Folks-this is an administration that blasts back that ‘this is fake news’...and ‘this is false nonsense’...when it is...
And so...it meant something when Karoline Leavitt was only saying yesterday ‘we’re not going to respond to reporting from anonymous sources. The Trump White House-wanted it known- without saying it- that this was trump making changes and doling out consequences for Waltz’s signal gate blunder.
More on that in a moment...but...
She wasn’t denying Waltz was being stripped of his national security job and basically demoted to un- ambassador...
That’s what happened. And hey- trump could have simply fired Waltz. Right?
That would have been more of Donald Trump’s style: you’re fired...get out.
Instead...trump shifted him over to UN ambassador. Why? Well, I can think of two possible reasons:
First- he still really likes Waltz and thinks he can be of service to the administration...just not in that NSA role...
And second: because when this signal gate scandal initially broke...President Trump was insistent that: by God, i am not going to let the media destroy my people and/ or force me into screwing them over.
Remember?
I talked about it at the time. This has been Trump’s reaction as the leftist media has tried to force him to drop both Waltz and Pete Hegseth...so the democrats can ‘get some scalps’ and ‘slash back at Trump’.
President Trump has had the same basic take on Hegseth: i am not going to let the bullying media run this administration and i am not going to toss good people to the wolves...and allow the vile left to destroy them as they’ve tried to destroy me.
And so- when I saw the second shoe drop yesterday, that yes, Waltz was out...but he was going to land in the UN gig, I thought: how perfectly ‘Trumpian’.
Even if there-really were- problems and concerns with Mike Waltz as the national security head- and apparently ‘there were’-
Trump wasn’t going to destroy Walz’s reputation and career-in the wake of signal gate- or think the leftist media had won some victory...
Instead...he waited several weeks and found a way to shift him over to the UN and sell this as ‘I’m moving him where he’s needed’.
Get it?
That’s what Trump is doing here. And it’s pretty savvy. After a half a day of speculation that Walz was ‘out’ at NSA
Savvy move. Especially since Trump-really does-need a un ambassador. You’ll remember that NY congresswoman Elise Stefanik was nominated...but then....’took one for the team’ and withdrew her name to remain in the house as an extra vote...because they have such a slim GOP majority.
And so-there was- a vacancy here- and any shift can be sold as ‘i really needed mike over at the un’.
And no. He’s not really fooling anyone. The insiders all know ‘what this is. But he’s protecting a friend and ally...who he believes can still be useful.
So-is this just punishment for being stupid enough to link a reporter’s phone number into a confidential group chat?
No.
According to the more credible stories yesterday, trump has been a little disappointed with mike Waltz in other ways...and has been asking ‘other people’ around him.... what their opinions are on Waltz.
And this has been going on for weeks. This was more than just ‘one screw up’.
It’s a new administration. Things need to be ironed out. Sometimes- power or positions of importance cause people to react in ways that you didn’t expect-
Who knows what really tipped the scales here -against Walz and in favor of Rubio and Witkoff?
We can only guess.
But-we do know that President Trump wants to see ‘competence’. He wants to see his orders followed- and followed through on.
I’m guessing that’s why rubio and Witkoff are ‘rising’ and Walz is ‘falling’ within the trump administration.

We should also use this ‘Waltz reassignment’ as proof that trump’s a leader- in all the ways that Joe Biden wasn’t.
Remember-in four years- Joe Biden never fired a single cabinet member or prominent staffer. Not one. Not even though his regime endured failure after failure and dumb decision after dumb decision.
Even decisions that cost Americans their lives. And still- Biden wouldn’t hold anyone accountable-
And notably- he wouldn’t take accountability, himself. Man... he’s a weasel.
Folks-Trump is holding a guy accountable over a ‘group text’ screw us. When Joe Biden wouldn’t hold anyone accountable for the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan...and the loss of thirteen servicemembers lives!
Did you see that Joe and Jill Biden have agreed to give ‘the view’ the first exclusive sit-down interview with them- post white house?
Oh-how exciting.
This is going to be next week, sometime, and I must tell you- I couldn’t’ care less.
This might sound terrible to you, given the job i do, but i genuinely do not care what either joe or Jill Biden have to say about ‘themselves’ or about ‘the country’ now that they are out of the white house.
My entire thought on the matter is: thank God they are no longer there-and they deserve to be in prison.
Genuinely.
That’s my reaction when it comes to ‘the Bidens’.
But jay, don’t you have some intellectual curiosity?
No. Not when it comes to them.
But...aren’t you planning to talk about it on the show, afterward?
No.
I might end up doing so, depending on whether they say anything that interests me...or if joe goes into a demented ramble...
But no. The Bidens on ‘the view’ is something that I see as ‘entirely skippable’... As an event.
But don’t’ you want to know what they’ve been doing for six months?
No.
But wouldn’t you like to see them try to defend their disastrous years in the office? Or why did they cover Bidens’ dementia?
Honestly? No.
First, the hens on The View will never ask questions. And secondly...what does it ‘matter’ what their answers are now?
They’re only going to lie and insist that Joe could have won again...and he never should have been shoved to the side.
I don’t want to hear that.
In fact- give me the questions that the hens on The View are going to ask-and I will predict with at least 85 percent accuracy...how they will answer each question.
We already know what the excuses and the spins and the lies are going to be. Why do we need to waste time watching it?
And for me, personally? After watching this vile, selfish turd’s career for 40 years.... then his terrible and destructive presidency for 4...i genuinely have no ‘soft spot’ for him. I have no kindness toward him-or jill-
And I never need to see or hear from either of them again.
