I have to say, it’s fun to watch all sorts of ‘long time’ leftist schemes and bullying tactics crumble...in the age of Trump.
PJ Media has a story about how this June isn’t going to be a very happy ‘pride month’.... given how much corporate sponsorship has pulled out of LGBTIQQ events....in the wake of trump’s attack on DEI and corporate leftism.
Yes. Let’s not forget that this backlash against leftist corporate bullying began before Donald Trump got back into office. It was one of the major themes of his campaign: to end the woke nonsense.
But there were conservative groups and activists like Robby Starbuck who were already successfully pressuring CEOs and businesses to stop caving to the activist left and ‘just sell their products’.
Conservative scrutiny- and ‘Americans waking up’ was the top driver of this corporate change. And that’s a victory for ‘normalcy ‘and common sense.
Then there’s the much, much overdue focus on radical leftism on our college campuses.
The Wall St Journal reports that the ivy league schools-and some other elite, leftist institutions, have formed an unofficial ‘working group’ so they can scheme up and dream up ways to ‘stop trump’ and preserve their institutional extremism.
And get this-
They refer to their group as ‘the collective’.
That couldn’t sound more socialist and dangerous. Could it?
This is proof of a few things- including that Trump really has them rattled.... and... that they all desperately want to cling to their institutional racism and sexism and DEI offices....as well as their antisemitism and ‘America-hating’. Trump is asking them to eliminate those things-and not only are they refusing-
But they’re alarmed enough about it that they have formed a ‘collective’ to try to get more bargaining power and negotiate that let them keep as much of their hateful, leftist machine as they can- once the negotiations are over.
Wow.
I notice that they all insist Trump and govt have no right to tell them who to hire, who to admit as students, and what their focus should be...but...
As we all know: if their institutions are taking federal money- Trump and his team have some control over that. Or can at least ‘demand it’ unless they want their funding taken away.
That -is-the powerful cudgel Trump holds here. And this sort of ‘government intervention’ really is long overdue on our college campuses.
Because- as we weren’t looking-the global ‘America hating left’ really has swooped in to take control of most of them.
These campus elites and leaders like to think that they are the smartest people on the planet...but part of that package always seems to come along with being the ‘dumbest people on the planet’ when it comes to common sense and what’s best for the country.
For example: Donald Trump is allegedly going to go back to a system in which these universities are required to publicly report ‘who’ and ‘which’ international donors they have.
This comes as China, and Qatar, and all sorts of global governments have spent decades quietly pouring money into many of these major universities to buy influence. Manipulate the schools....and basically engage in a soft jihad against America, the west, and capitalism.
Why would Joe Biden and his regime -want? - want? Secrecy when it comes to foreign funding.
One guess might be related to Biden’s decades-long family business of accepting and laundering sketchy foreign donations to himself and his own family members.
Gee.
Could this policy change have something to do with the chi-coms funneling millions of dollars to the Bidens to ‘buy access to federal government and college institutions?
I bet it’s not a ‘leap’ to connect the two.
Biden’s ‘no look’ policy is easy to exploit:
This law went into effect in 1965, so it’s been 60 years. But still.The investigation finds that at least 60-billion dollars has been funneled to US universities since this ‘reporting law’ was put into place.
That’s a billion dollars a year in foreign funding-often from enemy or adversarial countries- pouring into our college campuses.
Why? And why would Biden’s regime, specifically, go out of its way to cloak ‘who’ the donations were coming from.
That sounds really sleazy and intentional.
And the names on the list of campuses getting the major foreign donations won’t surprise you: the ivies, Berkley, UCLA, Michigan, Penn state, Arizona, Minnesota. I’m sure ‘Madison’.
And before trump issued the executive order, the wash free beacon says none of these campuses were complying with freedom of information act requests: reporters wanted to know: what do your foreign donations look like and where are they coming from?
And pretty much ‘to a university’- they either dragged their feet or said they couldn’t provide that information.
Some of these foreign donors-if they are individuals- could be graduates of the university, right?
They could simply be foreign alumni-giving to their alma-mater.Those donations are probably perfectly legit.
Others might be- foreign grad students-who then went back to China or Belize...or wherever and started a company ...and years later...agreed to fund some sort of research on campus. Also, legitimate.
If some Minnesota prof wanted to study the nutritional value of eating ants...and some foreign grad owned a cutting-edge food company-great-
We might have a symbiotic reason to fund ‘this research’ on this campus...and ‘that research’ on that campus. And so, not all foreign donations are suspected or questionable. In fact, most of them are probably just fine.
But-the lack of transparency-is- and has been-increasingly concerning as our universities-as a whole-have grown far more homogeneously lefty...and far less tolerate of opposing views....while showing open hatred for America and American values.
Yes. It’s not like there isn’t reason to be concerned here-and look more closely at the foreign donations on a lot of these campuses.
