The members of the house oversight committee have demanded a briefing from Biden’s head of the secret service today- just days after the team that was tasked with protecting Donald trump let a 20-year-old novice, with no real experience, team, or coordination, climb onto a building and get off 8 or 9 shots at president trump before they reacted.
The breakdowns in protocol and planning just keep piling up here if you’ve been following the story.
James Comer, the head of the house oversight committee, has demanded the dreadful secret service director, Kimberly Chelate, to appear before a bipartisan panel to give them a briefing....and she’s agreed.
And you know the basics of this by now: the gunman fired from a rooftop that was less than 150 yards from the stage Trump was speaking from.
It was about 130 yards-which is exactly the length of a football field-if you include the end-zones. This was a ‘layup’ for any trained gunman or regular deer hunter, for that matter. Luckily, Donald Trump turned his head at the exact second, he needed to-in order to survive this.
But still-the clown got off 8 or 9 shots...before a sniper from another rooftop behind trump- shot the gunman dead. How Thomas Crooks-the gunman- was able to waltz from his car- to that building-and up onto the roof- in camouflage carrying a rifle- no one can explain yet.
Then there’s the two to four minutes that transpired as rally goers frantically pointed it out to local police officers and agents on the ground who- apparently-didn’t even radio in to the main secret service organizers saying-we have a report of a man on the roof.
Instead-it sounds like one deputy hoisted another one up to peer onto the roof- only to have the gunman point his rifle at him- causing the deputy to drop back down...any. What?
Do nothing?
He didn’t have a sidearm to engage this shooter with? Was just going to radio it in?
What?
There are all sorts of questions related to that- and- the overall planning and detail.
Among the secret service agents who-were present-and did cover trump and hustle him out-was at least one woman who looked like Chris Farley in sunglasses...looking around all panicky and unable to holster her gun...
What’s her training?
Clearly a Dei hire.
I said on x-yesterday-she seemed so uncomfortable with that gun-how she held it- and then- couldn’t manage to get it back in the holster- that it strongly suggests she has not practiced much with it-and/or- is doing the wrong sort of practicing.
For example-her holster was so high on her hip that she was fighting with the flaps of her suitcoat to try to find it and put her gun away.
Does she practice with the coat on? Real world conditions?
Obviously not.
Everything about this event and how far the secret service has slid in the age of diversity hires-needs to be examined.
Meanwhile- Kim Cheatle-
(My god, I don’t want to be sexist, but doesn’t it say something that our secret service director is named ‘Kim’?)
Meanwhile- Kimberly Cheatle has been refusing to say anything publicly. She’s been in hiding for days. And so, James Comer has ordered her to appear in front of this panel and at least ‘tell us what you know’ thus far.’
Because our leaders-do- need to either confirm or deny some of the things we’ve been hearing and some of the misinformation that has been swirling around for days and is becoming ‘the truth’, whether it really is-or not.
For example: has Donald Trump’s campaign been asking for more manpower for months? Or not?
Did the secret service really divert some of the agents on trump’s normal detail over to Jill Biden’s detail last weekend, as has been reported?
Is trump’s detail so small that the agents assigned to it are exhausted and starting to have to take strategic days off leaving most of the security plan to local sheriff’s and PDs?
That has been alleged.
We need to start getting to some ‘truths’ here and spelling out the failures.
I will say that-the former secret service agents who have been popping up on the cable shows have been very informative, and seem quite credible, and to-a-man, have all said, ‘many mistakes were made’...or...’this was a cluster-farce’.
I think that much is ‘evident’ to everyone, by now. And so- what’s the explanation or excuse-as the secret service sees it? Cheatle has refused to say.
Yesterday-probably because she couldn’t avoid it any longer- Kim Cheatle agreed to cooperate with all congressional and FBI investigations.
Another thing her team did yesterday-is throw the local guys under the bus-and insist that they were the ones responsible for securing that rooftop. Not the secret service.
A major question that most people who have seen the videos have- about this: how those two snipers-seemed-to know he was on the roof with a gun and yet-didn’t do anything until he got off 8 or 9 shots.
It's what has several people buying into conspiracy theories-or saying-this was intentional. Biden gave the order to let this happen.
There are all sorts of B.S. circling, folks.
Well-to that question-why didn’t the snipers take him out first-
In can only offer you the reporting of Susan Crabtree of real clear politics investigations-who has actually been doing really good work over the last few days-trying to get facts on ‘protocol and procedure’ out of active and retired agents.
Crabtree has been told by secret service sources that they are actually-trained- to be reactive and not shoot first.
The explanation is-yes- they are actually trained to wait until the gunman fires first, to make sure they aren’t about to shoot an innocent person with a telescope who just climbed on the roof to watch.
I don’t know about you-but that sounds like some serious excuse making-or the type of idiotic policy we might get from today’s modern federal agencies.
Let him shoot first?
Let him kill the president? Then take him out? How does that sound right.
But-that is what Crabtree has been reporting: they aren’t meant to take out targets, pre-emptively, or ‘guess’ they are a threat. They must wait for the actual shooting to occur.
I cannot imagine that the protocol is ‘let the shooter shoot first’, but this is the sort of claim we are getting-in the wake of all of this- and admit it- it sounds just stupid enough that today’s ‘modern’ secret service agents might be working under those orders.
Tell me that it’s impossible that some lefty wallflower that’s been put off agency protocol under Biden or Obama-hasn’t decided-that agents can’t react pre-emptively.
Tell me it’s -impossible-that they’d be working under those orders-when Obama’s regime ran two foreign wars under rules of engagement that were even more ridiculous:
You wait until the terrorists shoot at you or lob rockets at you then you call back to dc and wait for an order to engage...and only after you get one—minutes or hours later-can you engage.
And oh-if the terrorists drop their guns and leave the building you cannot shoot them. They’re unarmed and we can’t be sure those are the same scumbags that were shooting at you.
Yes. We can. We have scopes. We saw their faces-those monsters-walking right there- were just trying to kill us.
Well-hold your fire. They aren’t trying to kill you now.
You’re telling me- that this ‘second Obama regime’ absolutely wouldn’t have similar rules of engagement for secret service agents? They’d never be that dumb?
I’d suggest you haven’t been following along.
And so- we genuinely don’t know what the truth is on a lot of the claims we’ve heard as to ‘what went wrong’ over the last 48 hours.
It -does seem true-that trump’s detail has been low on people and very overworked lately-and so they have been relying on the local police presence more and more.
If that ends up being true-that’s alarming.
If Biden’s team stole manpower from Trump’s massive Pennsylvania rally to have them a much, much smaller Jill Biden event where 300 people turned out-
That’d be outrageous.
What’s the truth, here?
And will we get the truth?
I got to tell yah- this so-called secret service spokesman, Andrew Gug-Lee-Elmi- sounds like he’s lying. Everyone in dc seems to have known that trump’s team has been requesting more resources. The truth doesn’t seem to be in question, but- he’s denying it.
So-what’s true? The American people deserve answers.
