Well, my friends, criminal justice reform is here. Do you feel safer?
Is any of this ‘new way’ of doing things by our leftist mayors, governors, and dos making you feel safer, or giving you more confidence that our system is more fair?
Across the country, the social contract that our elected officials have made with the voting public for the hundreds of years of this country’s existence-is crumbling.
We cannot have a society without law and order, and we cannot have order if the law isn’t being enforced. It is really that simple.
And what the democrats are doing to our legal and justice system is appalling. That social compact that has them taking an oath to enforce the law and protect the innocent public, is crumbling in a major way.
The effort by the left that goes back at least a decade to ‘decriminalize’, ‘de-incarcerate’, and treat the criminals as the victims is now snowballing to a very alarming and unsatisfying end.
There is rampant lawlessness in America’s big cities, and even in some of the smaller ones.
The California retailers’ association is labeling the state’s smash and grab epidemic ‘domestic terrorism’, and it is. And it is brought to you by, and sponsored by, the democrats.
They caused this.
We are told Californians are angry and scared-but they keep electing democrats who are further and further to the left, and 60 percent of those voters voted in favor of prop 47, which decriminalized retail theft and a host of other ‘lesser crimes.
California’s citizenry brought this onto themselves. As has Milwaukee’s, and Chicago’s, and New York’s etc.-
Ultimately-you get the government you voted for. So wise up, America.
Blue cities and entire blue states are experiencing lawlessness in the name of ‘enlightened reform’, and leftist ‘progress’.
George Soros and leftist organizations have promoted and bankrolled a much of this mayhem...by promoting soft-on-crime district attorneys like our own John Chisholm.
There are Soros DA’s in every major city in America, it seems, letting even violent criminals walk free just hours or days after they’ve been arrested.
We now have-layers- of criminal acts committed by the same criminal, thanks to this system. People like Chisolm aren’t taking a violent thug off the street after the guy’s first or second offense...but instead...releasing him repeatedly to commit three, four, five, six offenses. All of them could have been stopped, if we had a system that cracked down on ‘crime number one’.
Chisolm and these leftists das refuse to do it.
And the cycle of victimization and the -totally unnecessary-carnage, is inexcusable.
Every victim of that violent criminal who comes after charges against that thug on crime number one....is an unnecessary victim.
A guy like Darnel Brooks has left a string of unnecessary victims behind him across several states-and he had to kill six people and try to kill dozens-before he was taken off the street.
That is-inexcusable.
And even now: Brooks is locked up and facing serious charges because he committed the act in Waukesha County: who knows what Chisolm’s team would have charged him with if he’d terrorized the Milwaukee Christmas parade.
There are very real murders, rapes, carnage, crimes.... that today’s democrats allowed. And even facilitated...because of their idiotic ‘social justice reforms’.
And here’s an important alert: the frontrunner in the race for u-s senate on the democrat’s side is a huge, huge advocate of this lawless approach.
Everyone in Wisconsin needs to know that Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes has been ‘all in’ on this activist bullcrap from the moment he ran for office.
As a state lawmaker, back in 2016, Barnes even introduced a bill to do away with cash bail in Wisconsin. Just as they have in New York, Illinois, and California.
Mandela Barnes’ bill would have actually barred prosecutors from even using the current ‘risk assessment’ tools that Chisolm’s office uses to determine if this person is too dangerous for release.
Mandela Barnes wanted that process-stopped-as part of his ‘get out of jail free’ bill.
Luckily, the republicans oversaw the legislature and there was no way that terribly destructive idea was going to be passed.
But Mandela Barnes not only felt strongly enough about ‘no bail’ and releasing violent criminals that he considered it. He wrote a bill and promoted it for passage.
He was-proud- of this position that he was taking, in favor of dumping thugs back out onto the streets rather than holding them for trial.
Barnes needs to be held accountable for this if he’s the democrat nominee for senate next year, which is likely.
No one who supports and advocates for ‘lawlessness’ should ever be sent to Washington DC to represent the people of Wisconsin. Ever.
Barnes’ Marxist, lawless bill should be an immediate disqualifier.
This rampant crime is getting so bad in some of these democrat-run cities that their mayors are now resorting to boldly lying, in attempt to explain away the crime.
The leaders of both Philly and Chicago, this week, have resorted to telling the media, and the members of their community, that ‘you are not seeing what you are seeing. This city is not a crime ridden hell hole’.
Mayor Beetlejuice in Chi-town just-flat out-lied repeatedly to reporters on Monday afternoon.
And they all know she lied because several news organizations in Chicago keep their own crime data.
I don’t know if she’s trying to fudge this because there was a stretch in the 90s when Chicago’s crime rate was even worse than it is now...or what...but Chicago’s crime rates-are not-at 25 year lows.
The Philadelphia DA is doing the same thing: nakedly lying in the face of the facts-and all evidence.
And again-independently kept data proves he’s lying.
Meanwhile, in Portland, the city’s police department is warning residents that they’re mostly on their own.
No kidding.
The Portland PD told residents this week that they are only responding to priority one and priority two calls-the worst of the worst-
And so, Portlanders are ‘on their own’on the rest of the crime.
Many Portlanders no longer feel safe in their own city or in their own homes.
And my only response to that is: you voted for it.
Vote these dangerous idiots out of office, and wise up, already, or it will only get worse.
Portland’s mayor, ted wheeler, has allowed that city to devolve into a hellhole. He excused away, and even supported, relentless antifa and BLM riots and protests and attacking people in the streets.
He went along with the cut to the police department and has spent his entire career wanting to be seen as ‘one of them’, and a cool guy activist on the left.
And now that his city is a hell hole and an election is coming, now ted wheeler is pretending to ‘get it’ and has pivoted to talking tough on crime.
If the citizens of Portland are dumb enough to keep electing him, well, then their city deserves to burn. Voters in these cities must rise and say ‘enough’.
We are not going to allow you, mayor, council, da, judges-to make us the victims of violent crime and carjackings. We aren’t going to allow you to stand silent as our businesses are robbed and smashed and looted.
It is the voters in these cities that must act to end this terrible crime wave.
This. Must. Stop.
And Republican legislatures and governors can only do so much, when the local leaders refuse to crack down on crime, and refuse to protect their own citizenry.
