So...not unlike the G-7 summit, which was supposed to do so much to boost Biden’s standing around the globe and in the u-s-and instead backfired on the admin and the democrats....
So did the meeting with Putin, yesterday.
This also- did not- have the effect that the Biden white house was looking for....and that the left wing pundits who want to portray Biden as the next FDR....were hoping for?
Instead...Biden looked rather weak, again, as Vladimir Putin conceded nothing, admitted nothing, showed no warmth or deference to America and the west- and got the better of Biden at the final news conferences.
Folks- I’ve been reporting news and watching current events for 35 years, and have never seen a Russian president -so clearly go into-and come out of-one of the east/west meetings with the upper hand.
I’ve monitored the presidencies of Carter, Reagan, both Bushs, Clinton, Obama and Trump.
Seven presidencies dating back to the 1970s, and i can honestly say that i have never seen one in which-
The sense -going in- was that the Russian president was the stronger global figure and had the stronger hand to play.
Until yesterday.
And I guarantee you that no one else is going to have this take. Every other pundit is going to be looking at the performances, or the small moments, and analyzing them.
But this is the most significant ‘take’ on yesterday’s events, and it should be the front page news today. Every American should be concerned.
For the first time-ever- in world history, a Russian president seemed to have more power, and weight, and global strength....going into one of these things... Than the American president did.
And I’m not just talking about optics, here. I’m not just talking about the fact that Biden is older and physically weaker and could only endure a fifteen minute news conference when Vlad went an hour and easily could have gone longer.
No, no. That’s just the esoteric stuff. The optics of it.
I’m talking about how- right now, today, Vladimir Putin might have more global power and influence than Biden does now. In four short months Biden has managed to throw away all of the leverage over Russia and China that Trump left him..
And has instead...made several moves that capitulated to president’s ‘XI’ and Putin...as their alliance has only strengthened.
The Chinese/Russian alliance has rarely been stronger.
The Chinese are building a military to rival ours. They will soon have a navy that’s larger than ours...as Biden freezes our military budget and funds it at a level that amounts to a cut....
Meanwhile-we have these incredibly pathetic allies that haven’t been powerful since the world war two era, and look and talk in increasingly weak and pathetic ways.
Folks- not a single world leader showed up to the latest G-7 meeting. They all looked weak and meek and spoke in meek terms. Even Boris Johnson and Angela Merkle and Trudeau in Canada and macron in France are particularly ‘whispy’. Weak. Pathetic.
You can just-sense- a shift in global power- can’t you?70 years after the last world war, the eastern axis is on the rise again, as we in the west atrophy, and wither?
That’s the strong sense that I got, as I watched this yesterday: Putin had the stronger hand, and was the more forceful presence.
And since Joe Biden and his team were too cowardly to hold a joint press conference with Putin....Vlad got to skit-scat and bee-bop all over America...instead of be forced to stand in the presence of an American president and be held to account for his human right’s abuses, and other global belligerencies.
Before the event, Trump’s sect of state, Mike Pompeo, said it was a huge mistake not to hold a joint news conference. And he was
Then Biden came out and looked like the highly managed old man that he is-
He had his stack of notes in his hand, and
Admitted right off the bat: i was told to call on certain people.....
And he went for only about fifteen or twenty minutes....and...Admittedly...was pretty adept at answering questions...
But then ended by snapping at a CNN reporter who, surprise- surprise, was actually acting like a journalist and asking a good question.
We’ll get to that...
Folks, the one thing that Biden’s team-did say- Joe Biden was looking for-
The one item that Joe was ‘absolutely going to address and be tough on’....with Vlad,...was cybercrime.
Joe was going to insist Russia knock off its cyber attacks and say that Putin and the Russian government was going to be held responsible for any ransomware attack that originates in Russia.
By god, they were at least going to address that.
No, they didn’t.
Not really.
Putin said they, generally, agreed to ‘consult’ on the issue of cybercrimes...whatever that means...and that’s it.
So much for ‘laying down the marker’ on ransomware attacks.
Instead, afterward, Biden’s team said they had given Vlad a list of sixteen critical infrastructure entities that must be off-limits to cyber-attacks.
Does this strike anyone else as odd?
Here, Vlad, here’s a list of things we’d really like you to-not- attack, and if you do, we’re going to be steamed.
How about- don’t attack anything? Why is that not Biden’s position?
And team Biden didn’t attach any consequences or sanctions to this. So...what happens?
Does ole ‘Pugilist Joe’ resurface? Do we get to see Joe Biden threaten to take Putin behind the shed and thrash him?
Is Biden going to hike up his trunks past his belly button...and circle around...and threaten to give Putin the old....Scranton steamer? The punxatawney pile driver?
And then right into the Carolina clam shell?
Come on.
Biden couldn’t look more weak and ridiculous.
But here’s a great question that not a single reporter asked: why just sixteen areas, Joe?
Why did you only insist Russia not hack sixteen important things?
How about ‘no attacks’? How about that as a standard, Joe?
Know what I mean?
What global superpower gives a list of areas that are ‘off limits’ to attack....directly to its foreign enemies?
You just really got to leave these alone, Mr. Putin. Gee fella, we’d really appreciate it. Be a pal, huh?
Folks-for the first time in our lifetimes- global power might be shifting from the west to the east. And it should be raising alarm bells across the western world.

I started off the show with my biggest take-away from yesterday’s meeting between Biden and Putin...and for the new audience...it is this: in 35 years of monitoring current events over the course of seven presidencies dating back to Carter...
I have never seen a Russian president -so clearly go into-and come out of-one of these east/west meetings with the upper hand.
I’ve never seen this sort of east/west showdown in which- the Russian president was the stronger global figure and seemed to have the stronger hand to play.
Until yesterday.
And every American should be concerned over what we saw yesterday. Don’t just focus on the optics-which were bad enough.
Realize that-for the first time-ever- in US history, a Russian leader seemed to have more power, and weight, and global strength.... Than the American president did.
Right now, today- Vladimir Putin might have more global power and influence than Biden does. Than the American president does. Because -in four short months- Biden has managed to throw away all of the leverage over Russia and china that Trump left him.....
And because....as Russia and china have been building toward something...the western nations have been atrophying and withering.
We just saw a G-7 summit in which no- real-leaders showed up. Everyone from Boris Johnson to Justin Trudeau -exuded weakness and complacency.
Meanwhile, the Chinese/Russian alliance has rarely been stronger, and china has never been a stronger global player. It is using its money to influence more and more of the lesser countries....and the chi-coms are building a military to rival ours.
Do you know that they will soon have a navy that’s larger than ours?
And as all this occurs...the western world dawdles. Biden is talking tough on Russia and China, but he just proposed a freeze on our military budget and funds it at a level that amounts to a cut....
This is alarming stuff.
And sadly, the optics surrounding the Biden/Putin meeting reflected it.
Biden is older and physically weaker. He refused to do a joint news conference with Putin, which came off as cowardly, and then could only endure a fifteen minute solo news conference before he had to end it.
Putin did his news conference first- and got all of the attention and early coverage from a global media....
He went an hour and easily could have gone longer....and wasn’t challenged in any way...on the things he said.
He drew all sorts of false moral equivalencies between our open and moral society, and his closed and immoral one....and there was no u-s president standing next to him, looking to set him straight.
For the first time I’ve ever seen ...at one of these east/west conferences: Putin was clearly the more powerful presence.
Biden’s team -absolutely-handed Putin the upper hand, the moment Joe Biden and his team were too cowardly to hold a joint press conference with him.
He snapped at a reporter on the way out the door- which guaranteed that anything he had said before that moment- during the news conference- was going to be ignored.
This is a simple rule of politics and public speaking. You don’t do or say something more interesting as you exit, because -that!-then becomes the story.
And to be clear- I have no problem with elected officials barking at reporters when they do or say something stupid, or misrepresent what the person was saying.
I’d like to see more public official’s correct reporters on the spot, or reject the false premise of their questions...
But...this became the biggest story to come out of Biden’s morning in Geneva, meeting with Vlad.
His team and the cheerleader media built him up so much that just a ‘competent’ performance would have had them talking about him as if he were the next FDR or Winston Churchill.
Nope.
Once again..bumbley Joe couldn’t pull it off.
And America could not look weaker, globally, at this moment.
And as for the substance of the meeting- Biden validated what all sorts of us on the right knew: he’s too weak to really stand up to Putin or ‘XI’ in china.
Biden’s team didn’t even get tough on the Russian ransomware attacks that we’ve seen recently, as promised.
This was the -one thing-which Biden’s team insisted that they would specifically and forcefully address.
And afterward, Putin said they only agreed to ‘consult’ on the issue of cybercrimes...whatever that means...and Biden said, we’ll, we gave him a list of sixteen critical infrastructure entities that must be off-limits to cyber-attacks...like the water supply, the power grid...etc... Or we’re going to have to react.
Really?
How about- don’t attack anything, or we’re going to have to react? Why is that not Biden’s position?
What a farce, this was.
No wonder Biden’s approval rating is starting to drop like a rock.
Most polling firms now have him at about 46 to 50 percent....less than five months into the job.
I can’t imagine yesterday’s performance impressed anyone.
It sure didn’t impress the global media. International coverage is not kind, today.
