This 1.9-trillion dollar fake covid-19 relief bill is the disaster that just keeps on rolling.
It is so massive, and such a thick and never-ending document, that there’s no way our senators and congressmen had-any idea-what they were voting for.
This bill has now passed the house twice and the senate once-and it’s on to Joe Biden’s desk to be signed, and lawmakers who voted for it-as well as reporters who have been reporting on it for weeks and pretending to know what’s in it- are just now- still-finding new and unexpected things in it.
For example- no one knew that Chuck Schumer and the senate democrats had slid a provision into the bill that expressly prohibits states and cities from using this money for tax cuts.
I’ll further explain:
If you are a blue state or city that has a budget and a pension fund that has been so mismanaged ...and is so out of whack that it is hundreds of millions of dollars in debt, due to liberal mismanagement, then you can use this flood of federal money to rebalance your budgets and pensions.
That’s Pelosi and Schumer’s big gift to you, as feckless and big spending democrats who can’t pay their bills.
But say you are in a red state, or in a well-run conservative city, and you are already running balanced budgets and pension funds.
Heck-say you are a state like Wisconsin that has had republicans in charge of the budgeting for a decade and so your state is running surpluses and don’t have billions of dollars in debt to pay off-what then?
Maybe your republican governor or mayor or county exec might decide to take this new glut of federal money that you don’t really need- and use it to cut taxes. Right?
Maybe-as blue states like Illinois use the money to bail themselves out of their financial problems, red states cut their taxes even further. Sound reasonable?
Well-right before this massive ugly trick of a bill was sent to the senate floor to be voted on, chuck Schumer made some changes that- were included in what Chuck Schumer called a...quote. Perfecting amendment.
As if Chuck Schumer, of all people, had the ability to make this sloppy, wasteful, disgusting bill ‘perfect’ before they passed it...
But....in his last minute changes, Schumer slipped in a provision that -forces-conservative states and cities to spend the money somehow.
It -cannot be used-for tax cuts. Flat out.
Don’t try to lessen the wasteful nature of this spending. Don’t try to help out your local or state taxpayers because your state has already recovered financially from the covid-19 shutdowns, as Wisconsin has.
Nope. You-gotta!-waste this money that the feds are sending to you, somehow.
Isn’t that something?
In the coming days, you are going to hear the lie that this bill doesn’t allow the screwed up blue states to pay off their pension debts with this money.
Of course it does.
What the editors are saying here is- these blue states can just play a shell game: the language says this money can’t pay off the pension debt, so okay....the scummy legislatures in California and Illinois will steal money from their treasury...pay off that pension debt....and then put this federal money back into the treasury to make up for the theft that just occurred.
Of course blue states are going to use it this way. And in addition to that massive gift to the public sector retirees and unionistas in these states, the bill includes an additional 86-billion dollars to bail out dozens of other private pensions that are in trouble due to mismanagement over the years.
And so that’s part of the ugly payoff that unions and democrats in the blue states get for bleeping up their budgets and pensions over the years-
At the same time-Schumer added this rule that said, and red states that have balanced budgets can’t use this to lower taxes. They gotta waste it somehow, in some other way....
it means that if, say, in the city of Waukesha leaders had passed a 20 dollar wheel tax ...to kick in June first....as a way to raise additional money to balance its budget.
This provision says- Waukesha leaders couldn’t say, oh, well. We can just use the federal money to cover the difference and we can cancel that wheel tax.
Nope. The dc democrats won’t let you. You gotta waste this flood of unnecessary covid-19 spending on other things.
Get it?
Do you get a sense of how sinister this is? Biden, Pelosi, Schumer and the scummy Dems just stole about 1.2 -trillion dollars from your children and grandchildren unnecessarily-
And that is a generous estimate on my part-because i am not including the unnecessary spending on more covid-19 checks or extended unemployment benefits-
I don’t see those as necessary, either.
But even if we call that ‘needed’ spending here...that leaves about 1.2-trillion dollars of this package as totally unnecessary spending. Spending that has nothing to do with covid-19, or vaccinations...
It’s money that we have to borrow and pay interest on- so this is stealing from our children and grandchildren-
Democrats just stole 1.2-trillion dollars from your kids and grandkids...to play Santa Clause and flood the states with money-
And by the way-of course the blue states get most of the money. They are the most populous states and they have the budgets and pension funds that are the most out of whack...as well as having the most welfare recipients and charity cases....
So of course most of this money flows to the blue states. That’s how this has been set up and incentivized...
But- this bill has Dems flooding the states with hundreds of billions of dollars in federal money,
And they actually make it nearly impossible for state lawmakers and mayors to be ‘responsible’ with the money.
Schumer added a provision that literally says- spend it frivolously if you have to, but you have to spend it. You cannot use it more wisely, or to lower taxes. You gotta spend it.
It’s criminal.
And i can tell you how the democrats would defend this. Schumer would say: this money is meant to stimulate the economy. In order to do that, it must be spent. We need to pull America out of its economic crisis by spending and having this money flow into the economy.
That will be the logic Schumer and the dishonest Dems use to defend this provision.
But the truth is- we don’t have an economic crisis.
This economy -is not- it trouble. We have a 6.2 percent unemployment rate, which is only a little higher than the historical norm would be for ‘full employment’.
Remember- ‘full employment’ is considered about five percent. Economists consider 4 ½ or five percent unemployment...good. Full employment.
We aren’t that far off, after a very strong recovery thru the fall and winter-and before-Joe Biden ever took office.
This economy didn’t need this last stimulus, and that was apparent before the Biden team ever took over. Every economist who isn’t an idiot- on both sides of the aisle-agrees that 2021 was going to be a huge year of economic growth and job creation, as the country opened back up.
Without this spending, the Atlanta fed was predicting a 9 or 10 percent GDP growth for the first quarter of the year. That’s astounding.
We don’t need to spend this money.
So remember what this is about: the Dems rushed to pass this theft of the treasury...and will rush to get the covid-19 checks and the rest of the money out the door-
Because they want to be able to claim that -they-saved the economy. They conquered covid-19 and saved the economy, is the bogus talking point they are trying to set up for next fall’s elections.
When nothing in this package is simulative. It’s all just handouts to their political cronies....
And when the economy has already bounced back.
And that’s only part of it, and only one reason that these last minute provisions are so odious.
Today’s democrats are scumbags. I stand by that, as some ninnying conservatives start to lecture the rest of us on ‘civility’.
And ‘if we only talked nicer to each other’.
That’s crap.
Socialist-minded bullies are running steamrollers thru Washington DC and our state houses, taking new power by force and by scummy legislation like this. They have no interest in honesty, or compromise, or quote....dialog.
And the ninny conservative pundits who are buying into this ‘new civility crap’...are exposing how gullible they are.
