I am never going back to box TVs. I am never going back to dial-up internet. I don’t want to go back to Ask Jeeves. But I dropped Facebook from my new phone, and I’ve never been happier.
Of all of the modern conveniences that we have, social media is quickly becoming one that Americans are starting to question.
What was sold to us as a quick way to catch-up on the news, share family pictures, and find your former high school girlfriend has morphed into something terrifying.
Facebook, Twitter, the rest of the social media aps, and the companies that make them are all spying on us. Watching our every move, tracking our locations, and trying to find ways to turn our personal information into their profits.
Now they are expanding their Big Brother business into deciding who gets to say what, and where. That will bring a lot of people to a breaking point. Afterall, we don’t need Twitter and Facebook.

This gloating from one of the richest and (now we know) most powerful men on earth may prove short-lived. Quite soon, Americans will come to see the threat Twitter and other tech behemoths pose to our freedoms, and demand that their elected representatives rein them in. For the sake of our country, I hope that day comes soon.
