Celebrities and brands that want to appear woke are learning a hard lesson that appearances are often just that.
The woke left is coming after its own in the aftermath of George Floyd's death and the protests that followed.
A Buzzfeed article calls-out a number of celebrities and brands by name for "thinly veiled attempts to skirt around reality." The point of the piece is to say that people who thought they were woke are now being deemed to not be woke enough.
This is cycle for the left. They often do this. And in some ways, they love to do this.
It would be funny, if it weren't so serious.
The point, for those of us who are not on the woke left, is to not get caught-up in the pre-revisionist history. If we simply live by our principals, if we treat others with dignity, if we see others as individuals, and if we don't worry about the whims of Twitter we can stay above the eat their own fray.
