All day today, WISN and 97.3 The Game are taking donations for this worthwhile orginization
-Stars and Stripes Honor Flight was founded in 2008.
-They have flown 56 missions thus far, transporting over 7600 local veterans on these one-day trips to Washington DC. Veterans visit memorials, salute their comrades-in-arms, and receive the honor and respect they deserve.
- Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is currently honoring WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans, and terminally ill veterans of any conflict.
-Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff and no office. 97-cents of every donated dollar goes directly to fly veterans. The other 3-cents goes to expenses, such as liability insurance and financial services fees.
-The cost of a “full” Honor Flight (roughly 100 veterans and their guardians) is roughly $50,000
-Spring flight dates are Saturday March 28th, Saturday April 25th , and Saturday May 30th.
