Elections have consequences. That is 100% true.
Democrats reminded us of that fact when Gov. Tony Evers won the governor's race back in November.
We are reminded of this every time the governor creates a task force, or orders new standards, or proposes that taxpayers cover the costs of sex changes.
Our friends in the big newsrooms love the idea of Gov. Evers using his power. That's the consequence of his victory.
But when legislative Republicans propose to use their powers? That's a different story.
The headline writers in Madison and Milwaukee are outraged that Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald is planning to gavel and go during next month's special session on guns.
State reps and state Senators were on the ballot back in November as well. They won too. Elections have consequences.
