High school is the last time in your life where someone will drag you across the finish line.
Teachers, principals, even lawmakers are all focused on making sure high school students graduate. Whether students actually learned something is irrelevant.
High school has set the bar low. Show up, read the books, do some homework, take the state tests, and don't commit a crime. That's all students need to do.
Now, a high school in Ohio wants to set the bar lower. Leaders want to do away with valedictorians. They say the school is too competitive.
High school needs to be more competitive. Life is competitive.
