Yes, it is a bit childish for the president to want to ship illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities. These are people, and they should not be used as pawns in anyone's political game.
But the president is simply responding in kind to Democrats.
Democrats on Capitol Hill have insisted there is no immigration crisis, Democrats in major sanctuary cities have said they welcome all people. The Democrats say immigrants make this country better.
So the president is simply allowing Democrats to live up to their words.
And perhaps the most true thing about immigration, is that many Republicans are happy to finally see the president fight back.
