Life-Threatening Wind Chills Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning

Cold air the likes we haven't seen in over 20 years will affect the region this week. Temperatures will fall below zero tonight and will likely not rise back above zero until Friday morning. This is especially true for locations inland away from the moderating effects of Lake Michigan. Tuesday night through Thursday morning will be the coldest period. Low temperatures are forecast to be -20 to -35 both Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Temperatures will struggle to recover to the teens below zero on Wednesday for highs.
