Why we need the 2nd Amendment

The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting. Nor is about target shooting, or black rifles, or the NRA.

The 2nd Amendment is about protecting individual freedom. More specifically, the 2nd Amendment is a guarantee that Americans can protect themselves.

There are many on the Democratic left, including almost all of the candidates for president, who want you to forget that.

If you want to see what happens when people have no guarantee that they can protect themselves simply look to the U.K.

The recent attack in London saw three citizens jump into action to stop an armed terrorist. The engaged the ISIS-wannabe with a narwhal tusk, a fire extinguisher, and their bare hands. That is brave.

But it is necessary in the United Kingdom because guns are banned. There is no fundamental right in the U.K. to use a tool to protect yourself. Hell, London's mayor even wanted to stop people from carrying knives.

The 2nd Amendment is politically unpopular with folks on the left in this country. But it is, and continues to be shown to be, absolutely necessary.
