Every state has certain areas labeled as safe and other areas marked as dangerous, but those vary as crime rates are constantly changing.
To find some of the safest cities in Wisconsin, SafeWise reviewed data to determine which areas were the safest for Wisconsinites.
According to the report, Wisconsin residents match the national average regarding everyday concerns for their safety. However, of every concern Wisconsinites have, their biggest safety issue is gun violence.
"Even though Wisconsin is on par with the national level of daily concern (47%), year over year the state saw a jump of 15%—from 41% to 47%. And fewer Wisconsin respondents say they feel safe in their state (48% compared to 55% nationwide). Surprisingly, this climb in concern coincides with lower crime rates and fewer reports of personal experiences with crime."
The report says Wisconsin has had a "10-point dip" in property crime this year, which puts the state below the national reporting average of 18% in property crimes.
To determine the safest cities in Wisconsin, SafeWise reviewed the 2019 FBI crime report statistics and population data.
