Can one Democrat please say...DON'T RIOT!

Jay Weber Show transcript part 1 4-20-21 6:10am

My friends-one of my missions on the show today is to simply point out that this entire country- in the year 2021-

The entire country is engaging in the bigotry of low expectations.

This entire country is bracing for riots in the big cities pretty much regardless of whether officer Derrick Chauvin is acquitted or convicted.

Correct?

Is there anyone in this audience, or this country, that doesn’t believe that we are likely to see rioting and looting either way?

The only difference might be-the degree- of looting?

I keep thinking of Detroit in the 90s.That city’s urban community would right on both good news-and bad news. The pistons didn’t win the championship? burn the neighborhood down in disgust.

The pistons-did?-win the championship- lets burn the neighborhood down in celebration.

I’m viewing this group of anti-America racists in the BLM crowd who have terrified America’s cities over the last several years in the same light: we are likely to have riots either way-

And mostly-

Because the democrat mayors and governors in these cities have given this crowd of bullies and thugs ‘room to riot’ since they came on the scene. Correct?

This is a cancer on the country akin to Antifa or the KKK. It’s an organization that-for political reasons and because they were afraid to be labeled racists themselves- the mayors and governors of these blue cities allowed to loot and riot right from the beginning....and labeled it ‘protest’.

And so the problem has only grown.

The bigotry that has been displayed from the very beginning is that-apparently- white mainstream crowds know how to peacefully protest and comport themselves- but we shouldn’t expect black crowds to.

Isn’t that the double standard we’ve been working under? For years now?

And so-here we are.

We find ourselves, as a nation, holding our breath before the plunge into chaos.

A chaos that we know and expect is coming, nationally, unless a jury in Minnesota makes a decision that can placate the crowd of bullies.

And what further points to a nationwide bigotry -on the left- of low expectations from black Americans?

The fact that no one in leadership—from the Biden White House on down to the governors and mayors of these cities-

No one is saying: don’t riot.

Have you heard a single democrat elected official in any of these cities engage in a few days or weeks’ worth of pre-emptive ‘don’t riot’ rhetoric?

I haven’t. Jen Psaki-when asked- yesterday- suggested that president Biden does not support Maxine Water’s inflammatory call to arms, and he instead wants any protests to be peaceful-

But Psaki had to be asked!

The white house has engaged in no pre-emptive attempt to keep a sliver of angry Americans from rioting and looting and burning down our big cities...

And why not?

Why have we seen-no-effort by liberal leaders in these cities-in congress-in the white house-

To message ‘peaceful protest’ and forcefully discourage rioting?

Why are the nation’s liberal leaders giving BLM, and Antifa, and any other thug who wants to engage in violence and destruction....the go-ahead to do it?

Isn’t that bizarre?

That- is the bigotry of low expectations. And ironically- it is the leaders of ‘black America’ that have those who share their ethnicity back in the position of being viewed as ‘lesser’ Americans.

Isn’t it?

The rest of us in America-shouldn’t expect as much from black people?

Come on.

But that’s what they are selling: America’s left is selling the belief that America shouldn’t expect black Americans to behave within the law if they suffer an injustice or suffer a big disappointment.

We should expect them to resort to physical violence. Do property damage. Burn and loot.

It’s not criminal and outrageous, the left has told us, and it’s black America ‘showing their anger over injustice.

If their ‘race’ can’t get quote justice in the courts...then they are going to get justice by first looting the Nike and Apple stores, and then burning them down.

We are expected to all understand this, and accept it. The message is-literally- black America cannot express itself verbally, calmly, or rationally...and so....expect the anti-social temper tantrum and violence.

And that’s an appalling message for today’s democrat party and left wing activists- white and black-to be sending.

Instead of engaging in a few weeks’ worth of warnings that rioters and looters and assaulters will be treated harshly....our leaders have engaged in a few weeks of quote bracing...of the possibility of a not guilty verdict.

This is how the left’s accomplice media is explaining away an entire nation’s bigotry of low expectations: we shouldn’t expect better. The rioting is coming. Let’s just hope there isn’t too much damage or loss of life.

Am i the only one who finds this nuts?

Because that’s the tone of the coverage over the last several days. And the bulk of the MSM coverage on the trial itself has been-very-misleading, and suggesting that the trial went great for prosecutors- when it didn’t.

This just further sets up the expectation of a conviction that might not be coming.

Now, the jury will probably convict Chauvin of something, according to most of the legal analysts who have been watching the court case closely-but it isn’t a given. The prosecution really struggled with its case early, and called a series of witnesses to the stand that only ended up backfiring on them.

In addition to that- the prosecution’s entire case hinges on an alternate reality in terms of how the medical examiner said he died.

Remember-the ME who-actually- examined George Floyd’s body said he died of a drug overdose and a heart stoppage- and not asphyxiation.

The prosecution put a series of quote experts on the stand who they paid them to say what the prosecution wanted them to say: that Floyd almost certainly died of asphyxiation.

But that’s not what the ME who actually examined the man’s body found.

And so- if the jury gets into the deliberation room and comes back to that indelible fact-well- that means there’ enough reasonable doubt to acquit.

And so- acquittal is not impossible, here.

In fact, it sounds like the most logical verdict, given that the jury cannot prove officer Chauvin intended to do any harm to George Floyd.

I said from the very beginning that the uber-lefty AG of Minnesota overcharged this case. Two of the three possible charges a jury could pick from are quote murder. As in- the intent by the officer was to kill this man.

Well- it wasn’t. The prosecution did nothing to prove that Derrick Chauvin -intended- to kill George Floyd and that’s why he knelt on his neck for so long...

This entire country-is bracing for riots in the big cities -pretty much regardless of whether Officer Derrick Chauvin is acquitted or convicted.

Why?

Because today’s left wing leaders have taken the country right back to racial divisions and the bigotry of low expectations for black people.

Correct?

And ironically- it is the leaders of ‘Black America’ that have those who share their skin color- back in the position of being viewed as ‘lesser’ Americans.

They have been strongly messaging for years now that the rest of us in America-shouldn’t expect as much from black people. No?

They are forwarding the suggestion that America shouldn’t expect Black Americans to behave within the law if they suffer an injustice or suffer a big disappointment.

What else would you call that? Bigotry.

But we are all expected to buy into it and accept it. Imagine the insult to Martin Luther King’s legacy: the message from today’s left is-literally-Black America cannot express itself verbally, calmly, or rationally...and so....expect the anti-social temper tantrum and violence.

That’s an appalling message for today’s democrat party and left wing activists- white and black-to be sending. But they are sending it.

From the moment this Marxist organization that saw its opportunity to burn down America- using race as the weapon- arrived on the scene-

The democrat mayors and governors in these cities have given this crowd ‘room to riot’, and only made excused for them. Correct?

And no one in leadership—from the Biden white house on down to the governors and mayors of these cities-

No one is saying: don’t riot.

I’ll ask the same question i asked earlier: have you heard a single democrat elected official in any of these cities engage in a few days’ worth of pre-emptive ‘don’t riot’ rhetoric?

Any ‘we won’t condone it?’

Any ‘you’ll be arrested and prosecuted’ messaging?

None.

And this is after weeks’ worth of -very- misleading coverage from the MSM on how the Derrick Chauvin trial was going.

Because -it did not go well-for the prosecution. At least not for much of their own presentation.

They appeared to rally once they could play defense against Chauvin’s lawyers as the defense put on its case...

But the prosecution’s case-was not convincing-according to the legal experts who actually watched every day of this trial.

So-could an acquittal be coming?

It’s always a possibility-given that the prosecution’s entire case hinges on an alternate reality in terms of how the medical examiner said George Floyd died.

Folks, the expert who-actually- examined George Floyd’s body and determined the official cause of death, said he did not die due to officer Chauvin kneeling on his neck. The ME said he died of a drug overdose and a heart stoppage- and not asphyxiation.

And the best the prosecution could do was put a series of paid experts on the stand to say what the prosecution wanted them to say: that Floyd almost certainly died of asphyxiation.

If the jurors don’t buy that- Chauvin could be acquitted.

I went thru the three possible ‘convictions’ that the jury has been given to choose from...and two of the three hinge on officer Chauvin’s ‘intent’, and the jury would have to believe that Chauvin-intentionally-inflicted harm and death onto George Floyd.

If the jury doesn’t buy that- the only other charge that the idiot racist attorney general Keith Ellison gave them to choose from is second degree manslaughter, which only carry’s a ten year sentence-maximum- if he’s convicted.

Will the BLM street thugs be satisfied with that verdict?

I’m guessing, ‘no’. America’s big cities will probably burn, anyway, because Ellison insisted he was going to make an example of Chauvin and overcharged him. Ellison, by god, wanted to go for some version of ‘intentional murder by cop’ and the facts just don’t fit that belief.

The prosecutors -and Chauvin’s attorneys- both tried to set a low bar for the jurors.

The prosecutors instructed the jury to ‘just believe your eyes’.

He intentionally used the term ‘murder’. Not manslaughter.

Ellison’s prosecution team wants a murder conviction badly, not manslaughter, which suggests an unintentional death.

Prosecutors want this to be a cop-murdering- an innocent citizen...

But it isn’t that. And if the jurors are at all honest and dispassionate about the facts in front of them- they cannot proffer a murder conviction, here.

Meanwhile-Chauvin’s attorneys tried to set the bar low by telling the jury- all you need is reasonable doubt here. And they didn’t prove officer Chauvin intended to harm or kill George Floyd. End of story.

That’s an interesting instruction, isn’t it?

Would any other officer have acted differently?

The answer to that is actually-yes-given that a few of the other officers at the scene suggested to officer Chauvin that he should ease up, or get off of Floyd’s neck.

And again- those legal experts who watched the trial said the prosecution botched their case early, but rallied when they got to rebut the defense’s case...and...Bottom line...those who watched the trial believe some conviction is likely coming here-

Probably second degree manslaughter with a maximum possible penalty of ten years.

Will that satisfy the rioting rioters who just want to riot?

I highly doubt it.

I should also say that the jury can convict Chauvin on any combination of charges- and so-if they think two of three fit, or all three fit, they could convict him of any combination.

As for when they have reached a verdict? It could be hours, days, or weeks.

My own belief is that the case hinges on whether they believe Chauvin’s actions were-

A)Intentional...and if so- which murder charge fits... And if his actions weren’t intentional then-

B)Will they agree he acted recklessly and the manslaughter charge fits?

Those are the only two real decisions this jury needs to make...and so...this shouldn’t take days or weeks.

Not unless they are so worried about their own lives, at this point, and how they are going to be doxed and targeted and harassed if they don’t convict Chauvin...that a few of them hold out for a hung jury.As in-no decision.

I suppose that could happen, too.

But the decision all hinges on intent-and if I were the jury foreman- I’d start there: do we think the officer’s actions were intentional or unintentional? Was this intentional ‘murder’?

If unintentional-we can kick out two of the three charges immediately, etc.

Another clarifying question: do we believe the medical examiner who actually autopsied the body and put the cause of death as -not-asphyxiation?

Or do we believe the prosecutor’s hired experts?

Again- the answer clarifies the conclusion.

From where i sit-justice here is either acquittal or second degree manslaughter...it’s not ‘intentional murder’.

That seems obvious. But- I didn’t sit thru the trial and haven’t been swayed emotionally by Ellison’s prosecution team, either.

Maybe most of the jurors will by the bogus ‘intentional murder’ rap.
