Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said Irish companies are making greater investment in U.S. companies and are bringing “good jobs” to the U.S.
"Since you took office, Mr. President, 59 Irish companies have made new investments in this country. So we are bringing jobs and good jobs to America," Varadkar said while standing next to President Trump during the White House’s annual Shamrock Bowl ceremony on Thursday.
According to Enterprise Ireland, the Irish state agency that oversees the development of Irish business, 59 new offices from Enterprise Ireland-supported companies were launched in the U.S. in 2017. The agency claims that number is up 18 percent from 2016.
