Jon and Karen Bird along with their son and daughter-in-law Luke and Tracy Bird of Bird Farms Inc will be hosting the 3rd annual Racine County Breakfast on the Farm on Saturday, June 24. The Bird farm has a rich history deeply rooted in Racine County dating back to 1855. Over the generations, Bird Farms has raised dairy cows, beef cattle and hogs while growing field crops. Today, the focus has shifted exclusively to grain production on 630 acres. Jon mainly plants corn, soybeans and winter wheat. For numerous years, Karen Bird, Jon’s wife, assisted with preparing the soil for planting and harvesting in the fall.

“The Racine County Breakfast on the Farm committee is excited to showcase a grain farm as the host farm this year,” says Dormie Roberts, Public Relations Chair “As a committee our goal is to bridge the gap between consumers and producers about our agriculture industry in Racine County. It is also a fun and educational event for the whole family to attend.”

Tickets are $6.00 each, children 3 years and under are free. The breakfast will include; eggs, sausage, milk and ice cream and will be served from 7-11am. There's fun for the whole family including a children’s game tent, tour of the farm, local farmers market and much more!

Racine County Breakfast on the Farm is dedicated to enhance awareness and understanding of the agriculture industry through education and promotion. For more information about the Racine County Breakfast on the Farm, follow us on Facebook.
