It’s terrible that we must start the show with this terrible shooting at a Catholic school- which innocent children attacked while at prayer- at a mass to celebrate the start of another school year.
Two children are dead…and as terrible as that is…it clearly could have been far worse. At least seventeen others were wounded….and let’s pray that all the rest of them survive- and ultimately thrive- after surviving such a tragedy.
This insane gunman had three weapons and sprayed the group through a stained-glass window before taking his own life. And it’s such a ‘tired old story’ of tragedy- and these sorts of shootings by mentally deranged and screwed up lone gunman have become ‘routine enough’...that i refuse to engage in the same old sort of ‘gun control’ and ‘who’s to blame’ debates.
The White House announced last night that
American flags will be flown at half-staff for the rest of this week to honor the victims of the Annunciation Catholic Church shooting
Public flags will fly at half-staff until sunset on Sunday, Aug. 31.
Also, last evening, FBI director Kash Patel posted several updates from the shooting on X, including the fact that the bureau is investigating the incident as a hate crime.
But as for the national reaction to it, it was the ‘same old, same old’ from the left: they immediately leapt to assume it was a ‘right wing’ shooter (and it never is. Every one of these instances seems to trace back to someone who-if they have political motivation at all- is someone on the loony left.
This moron posted an eleven-minute video that showed him getting ready…and it included a look thru a table of guns and magazines that he had laid out- they were all black with white writing he had scrawled on them: he’ literally written messages on the guns and ammo- including ‘kill Donald Trump’...
And yet…virtually no MSM outlets reported that- and even though it was apparent right from the start that this another ‘leftist kook’ if nothing else: if there was a political motivation here, it was a rage against the right…and society in general.
And yep. It quickly became known that this person was a trans-woman. Was born Robert, then as a teen, started calling himself Robin. We’ll get to that…but. First I’ll complete the thought on how ‘well worn’ the left’s reaction to this is. David Harsanyi put it best:
If the shooter's motivations can be even loosely associated with the right, coverage will be obsessed with dangers of ideology and ugly rhetoric. Otherwise, the focus will be on gun control. And it never fails.
That’s exactly how the left leaps to react…every. Time.
But let’s focus on the fact that this was another ‘gender confused’ person who had been poisoned by the relentless focus on transgenderism as something to be celebrated and promoted…as we relentlessly tell every confused kid that he or she is ‘transgender’ and is a victim of society.
Senator Jim banks of Indiana posted this-and it’s dead on:
"When you “affirm” mental illness instead of treating it, people get hurt."
Yes. And I am not a huge Jesse Watters fan. I don’t really watch his show. But his monolog last night has gone viral because it is- so good. Really poignant stuff.
And so-I’m going from a guy who never features Jesse Watters- to a guy who is going to turn over three minutes of his show to jesse waters so you can hear his monolog on this epidemic of ‘trans-violence’ that we are seeing-and why:

This is a ‘Minnesota shooting’ correct?
Well-it turns out that smaller private schools like this in Minnesota lobbied democrat governor Tim Walz-hard-for enough money to harden their schools against these sorts of incidents…just like he was using taxpayer money to help harden the public schools against violence.
Tim Walz refused, of course. Because today’s democrat leaders seem to hate religion and anyone of faith.
The daily wire reports: two years ago- the leaders of independent and catholic schools in Minnesota begged democrat governor Tim Walz for help securing their schools and the funding was never authorized.
In a letter dated April 14, 2023 the leaders of this organization stressed an “urgent and critical need in Minnesota to make sure our schools are secure and safe” considering “recent, and continuing attacks, on our schools in this country and in our state.”
The letter says there are about 72,000 students in independent, catholic, Jewish, Christian and Muslim nonpublic schools within the state of Minnesota that needed protecting. Tim Walz ignored them.
That letter was sent just weeks after the shooting at a Christian school in Tennessee, which was also carried about by a transgender-identifying individual in their twenties.
“The latest school shooting at a nonpublic Christian school in Tennessee sadly confirms what we already know – our schools are under attack,” they wrote. “in Minnesota, nonpublic schools, particularly our Jewish and Muslim schools, have experienced increased levels of threats, all of which we must take very seriously.”
“The tragedy from last week at covenant school must never happen in Minnesota or in our country again,” they wrote. “We need to ensure that all [our] schools have the resources to respond to and prevent these attacks from happening to our schools.”
Well, it has happened in Minnesota now…and one of the leaders of this group told the daily wire yesterday that no additional security was ever funded, even though the money existed. Walz didn’t approve their request. His theory? Democrat lawmakers don’t like ‘non-public’ schools…and they really seem to hate religious schools.
Bingo. That’s why.
So…if we have any real journalists left, Gov Tim Walz and Minnesota legislators have some questions to answer. And oh- in the same year and in the same budget- 2023-Gov Walz went out of his way to provide funding to protect for the ‘trans community’ and went out of his way to brag about it.
Quote… Walz in 2023 was instead working to protect transgenders. In April 2023, the same month the letter was sent, Walz signed legislation establishing Minnesota as a “trans refuge,” promising to “protect those seeking gender-affirming care,” according to OutFront Minnesota.
We-in this audience-didn’t need any more proof that gov Tim Walz is a real far-left slime ball…but here’s even more proof.
Then there’s the loser Minneapolis mayor- Jacob Frey-who we got to know as a far, far left ‘tool’ during the George Floyd case-and riots. This man was the ‘first democrat mayor’ to stand back and let rioters loot and burn down his city…in the name of ‘social justice.’
This jackass offended half the country, yesterday, as some of the first comments out of his mouth were related to how ‘prayer was useless’...and he didn’t want to hear about ‘hopes and prayers’ for the victims…he wanted to hear about more gun control.
Folks-these poor little kids were literally attacked and killed-while at prayer. In a catholic church. As part of a catholic community. And Jacob Frey is crapping on their religion at a time in which prayer and faith might be the only thing they have to fall back on.
He made all sorts of people of faith- furious- yesterday.
I thought Scott Jennings of CNN had the correct take on it:
The kicker to Jacob Frey’s comments is- this is a clown who knelt before the golden casket of George Floyd….as a show for the cameras….at George Floyd’s funeral. But he can find no room in his heart to pray for catholic children. Doesn’t want to hear that nonsense.
