Don’t look now-but the eco-zealots are in a genuine panic-
A real panic-for the first time in decades- as they see their influence over most of today’s elected democrats waning and taking a back seat to ‘common sense’ and a need to win elections, first.
This is a fun and unexpected twist on the left that I didn’t really see coming: the combined efforts of- first- the democrats during the Biden administration to force a few trillion dollars in green energy spending on us and force ‘drop dead dates’ on gas powered cars...
Followed up by the promises by president trump and republicans to ‘stop the madness’ if they got into office-
Have come together to form the first significant backlash against green energy-
Or at least- green energy by force’ -that we’ve really seen in this country.
This can be seen in several blue state governors and other lawmakers backing way, way off on their green energy promises and mandates. Maryland’s governor has. Gavin Newsom and California lawmakers have-
(and imagine how mortifying that is for the eco-zealots: we’re even losing Newsom and Sacramento’s socialists?)
Yep.
At least for the time being.
Also- the eco-zealot governor of New York- Kathy Hocul- is backing off all sorts of green energy bullying that she’s been doing in that state.
And the same goes for Gavin Newsom and the Sacramento and la socialists who are suddenly pretending to be ‘all reasonable’ when it comes to the crushing environmental mandates they have put on their citizenry over the years.
Still-it represents a larger acknowledgement that voters have lost interest in expensive and bogus green energy fixes- and so- selling them’ to the people is going to require new lies...at the very least.
And for now?In a desperate need to win back seats in DC and in the state houses.
For now?The democrats are putting a ‘pause’ on the green energy bullying.
Ruy Teixeira is that former democrat pollster who keeps looking for signs ‘today’s democrats’ are going to return to some commonsense policies and abandon their blossoming socialism...
And this is one arena in which Ruy would like to see them return to a commonsense approach. Energy.
So, he says, the democrats need to pursue an ‘energy abundance’ agenda and get back to advocating for an ‘all of the above’ approach that isn’t just pushing wind and solar.
I agree that would be the smartest way to go here-but can you imagine the meltdown on the left-if the democrat party started to talk about continuing to use cleaner burning fossil fuels and going to nuclear and natural gas- even if it’s just to ‘supplement’ wind and solar.
No exaggeration: the eco-zealots would burn the democrat party tent to the ground.
Today’s democrat party is so- embedded with-
So-entwined with-the climate zealot activist groups that there’s no easy way to extricate themselves from it now...or even.... shift back toward sanity.
