Saturday was quite a contrast-with most of the country simply enjoying their weekend-as one side of the political aisle celebrated the greatness of the US Army and the American military....as the other side continued to engage in their ‘theater kid’ theatre staging protests around the country over a fake thing and a false worry.
The so-called ‘no kings’ protest.
As a few people on social media said afterward- in snarky posts: hey, they worked. America still has no king.
These protests were organized by the party who forced out their party’s leader and installed Kamala Harris in a post-election coup- and then insisted their own party members just ‘accept it’.
Eight months later, they are organizing protests related to a fake issue.... but they’ve got so many mentally deranged followers on the left, now, that they can orchestrate ‘real crowds’ even for false causes.
Meanwhile, ‘sane Americans’ were either enjoying their weekend, carefree, or watching a rare and patriotic military parade in DC on Saturday.
Proving how leftist, they are none of the cable news stations or broadcast tv stations, other than Fox, broadcast this parade live. Not even though it was a very rare, historical event: we didn’t really hold military parades in the modern era. Probably not since the bicentennial celebrations of 1976...when we had a democrat party and its followers who still largely loved and appreciated the greatness of this country.
President Trump’s first term spokesman-Sean Spicer- was on Mark Halperin’s podcast and said he’d be looking to see what sorts of genuinely pathetic people would decide they needed to protest this parade.
For the record: I didn’t hear or see any coverage related to protestors. I don’t know if any ‘America haters’ decided to break off from the ‘no kings’ rallies to try to protest or disrupt the parade...but if they did...they weren’t successful.
It was a neat event...and
It was cool to see tens of thousands of spectators enjoy the parade in DC this weekend.
So, it was a nice event. And despite the left’s attempt to spin this as Trump giving himself a birthday parade- an AP poll shows that virtually no one was buying that nonsense.
President trump and JD Vance and a few others spoke afterward, apparently, but thankfully kept it brief- and- kept the focus on our military.
Rain was in the forecast and a few petty jags- like Minnesota governor Tim Walz- were telling anyone who would listen that he was hoping for a rain-out...
But it held off. Until after the fireworks were around nine. A good time was had by all. The army hopes it’ll be a good recruitment tool for all the young people who were there- excited to talk to the soldiers and check out their weapons...etc.
In short-it was a good, old-fashioned, all-American events. How refreshing to see-after so many decades of having the democrats and those on the left downplay the significance and the achievements of our military and our veterans.
In fact- thank God that president trump- or at least ‘a republican’ is in office for the 250th celebration of this nation- because you know a modern democrat president and his white house would be downplaying it and planning very few events around it- to celebrate the greatness of this country and its people.
I have a different segment on the so-called ‘no kings’ protests on Saturday....but my quick take on them is: so what?
Even liberal news outlets were calling them ‘unfocused’ and kind of bland, on Saturday.
One reason for that might be that we don’t have a king and these were organized around a fake issue.
No one’s really buying this ‘trump wants to be a dictator’ thing, aside from a small group of gullible and mentally ill leftists.
And the polls prove it. President trump’s approval rating is hovering around 52 percent over the last two weeks- and that’s’ better than most second term presidents can ever hope to achieve.
Byron York boiled it down this way-on Friday: Trump is having a normal presidency...if you put any ‘theater kid’ angst aside.
Yes, it is. And dare I say: as we get further and further into the trump era...this ‘new normal’ might just represent a break in the 50/50 stalemate we’ve had in this country for two decades now.
If trump and republicans can keep their promises and follow thru on the various ways they are ‘renormalizing’ America.... We, most of the American people, are going to appreciate it...and will hopefully elect another republican for another 4 to 8 years of normalcy.
And if that’s the case- after twelve years of relative normalcy and socialist progressivism being rejected....the most logical hope would be...anyone running for elected office as a democrat will understand that they need to be closer to a ‘Bill Clinton’ than a ‘Joe Biden or a Bernie sanders’....and this current wave of America-hating socialism will have been shoved back onto the fringes of American life.
Hey. We can hope.
