You have heard-by now- about the ‘democrat dimwits’ who rushed an ice holding facility in new jersey...insisting they had the right to make a ‘surprise inspection’...or some such thing.
It resulted in the arrest of the new jersey mayor...and could still result in the arrests of another congressman or two who ‘went too far’ with ice agents.
We’ll get to that.
But-the law says, yes- a sitting US congressman can demand a ‘surprise inspection’ (if you want to put it that way)- but they at least must ask nicely...and set it up with the federal authorities ‘on site’.
This group of lefty lawmakers simply ‘rushed’ the place. They ‘rushed the gates when they were opened to allow a new busload of detainees to drive inside...just like you’d drop off a load of prisoners at a prison.
Well-these dimwits decided it would be smart to ‘rush inside’ while the gates were open.
That more- genuinely is- akin to ‘storming a prison.’ this isn’t technically a prison, but it is a detention center for the most dangerous illegal aliens on the eastern seaboard...and so...it’s a prison.
And these knuckleheads...engaging in a cheap stunt...rushed in. Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested...and then immediately ran off to do CNN and MSNBC after he was released...to claim he was a victim...and he and the group were standing up for the ‘due process’ rights...of the illegals.
Border czar Tom Homan did an interview afterward in which he called this nothing more than a cheap political stunt.
Yes. The entire point of that facility, Homan said, is ‘this is where the illegal thugs are taken to get their ‘due process’.
A few other congressmen who also broke the law by breaching the gates-and then getting into scuffles with the ice agents who blocked them- were also then came out and made-up wild stories about police brutality...and how poorly they were treated...
Which...all fell apart the minute the body camera footage was released. Homan and Noem allowed these idiot congressmen to spread their lies for half a day- then released the bodycam footage that proves every single one of them was lying
These democrats-forced their way-thru check points. You, or I, or any one of us, would have been arrested and detained at that point...and probably would have been treated more harshly.
Because-at that point? As the average person is forcing their way into a prison and using physical force against law enforcement?
At that point- those agents have the right to toss you to the ground....and/or use brute force against you....as the suspect who’s being overly threatening and aggressive.
Anyone of these congressmen could have been tossed to the ground and cuffed...at that point.
And unlike just about every other conservative media member...
I don’t want to make ‘too much’ of this shoving and jostling. I watched several videos...and yes...a few of these congressmen were pushing and shoving and jostling agents....in this larger scrum...
But i wouldn’t label any of the action’s ‘assault’...or real ‘violence’ as so many of my cohorts on the right did.
This was the sort of shoving and elbowing and pushing that would have made LeBron James flop onto the court...and pretend he’d been victimized...
But none of it was ‘injurious’. Especially against ice agents in security gear.
The three congressmen named are all largely ‘unknowns’ in DC: they are all New Jersey reps: Robert Menendez (and yes, he’s the son of the scummy senator who just went to prison for taking foreign bribes)... La-Monica Mc-Iver, and Bonnie Watson Coleman.
See? I told you you’ve never heard of them.
But Mc-Iver is seen on video elbowing and shoving an agent. She allegedly punched one at some point.
But as I say: from what I saw...it was contact that would make LeBron flop...but not the average cop or ice agent.
It kills me that every single one of these lawmakers immediately ran to the media and lied about the encounter...and their own actions in it.
Don’t they think that there’s all sorts of video monitoring of a prison facility?
And didn’t they think about the bodycams of the agents, themselves?
They rushed out to tell their lies and complete their little political stunt-and within a matter of hours- looked like complete idiots.
And what La-Monika Mc-Iver did-on video- ‘does’ constitute ‘assault of a law enforcer’ if prosecutors really want to push it. Yes.
She physically and verbally assaulted agents-in a manner in which- if it had happened on the street- and it was any other ‘normal person’...he or she would have ended up slamming to the ground and put in cuffs. Yes.
And the agents would have been within their rights to do it.
And if these were republican congressman? They’d already be facing charges. No doubt.
There is-zero doubt- that if Joe Biden and Merrick Garland were still in charge...those other ‘no name’ congressmen would also be facing charges.
And-they may come. According to Trump’s DOJ- they might be coming...as they review the video.
I hope Bondi and her team actually ‘bring those charges’...as a deterrent and a warning to other democrat leaders across the country: you are not allowed to break the law, either.
You might have an elected position. You might let your elevated status ‘go to your head’. But you are not special. And you cannot break the law.
This is another instance in which-even if the charges would seem a little ‘ticky-tack’ on other instances- i think it’s important for Bondi’s team to bring them....at least against Mc-Iver...who is on video...going too far.
Make an example of her- now- in the same way that Bondi’s DOJ is making an example out of judge Hannah Dugan here in Milwaukee.
Have you noticed that for all their early bluster? - no one’s really coming to the public defense of judge Dugan, anymore?
Isn’t that interesting? How quiet has it gotten on the left- around Hannah Dugan?
It’s because once they had heard the details of the case-they knew she had broken the law. Flat out. Those defending Judge Dugan know she broke the law. And so, that very quickly became a matter of ‘rhetorical backpedaling’.
I guarantee you-this will too. Because the mayor and those lawmakers are on tape...being the difficult ones...breaking the law...disobeying lawful orders...and then misrepresenting it all to the news media.
Sure-their fellow democrats and leftist felt the need to rush to their defense on Friday and Saturday...but once the truth came out...the rhetorical backpedaling from others in congress started rather quickly.
Moreover-the entire thing backfires with the American people. Who do they really think they are impressive, anyway?
As Tom Homan said on Fox on Saturday. It’s Trump’s team that is following the law-and carrying out the will of the American people.
Homan is correct, of course. Moreover, that facility is currently holding dangerous thug illegal criminals and gang members who have been deemed ‘the worst of the worst’ by ice agents.
