Listeners are asking me about the ludicrous attacks on Elon Musk over a fake Nazi salute controversy....
And others are asking me about the lesbian bishop who wanted to lecture president trump and JD Vance yesterday....
Look. It’s all ‘noise’.
And it’s the sort of ‘noise’ and nonsense that i’m going to be talking about a lot less in this second trump era, hopefully.
Because it really is ‘noise and fury’ that signifies nothing. The democrats, their activists, and their talking heads are right back ‘at it’, with that sort of stuff.... because they’re literally lost in the political wilderness right now-
With no leaders or leadership-
And no clear way out of this mess they and their socialist progressive radicals have gotten them into over the last 8 years.
The democrat party and their main actors are in such a state of freefall that they literally have no idea what to do. Which way to turn.
Or even how to begin fighting Trump 2.0.
They really don’t.
Barrack and Hillary were so dreadful they killed off traditional liberalism-which had Bernie and AOC and the socialist progressives rushing into the democrat tent to grab the reigns of the party...
Now Joe and Kammy have completely exposed the folly of socialist progressivism. Or ‘socialism lite’.... or whatever you’d like to label it- and driven that into the ground with their radical wokeism and mismanagement and trillions in failed govt spending...
And so ‘what comes next’ is a big question here-and it comes at a time in which the national party is -again- rudderless. Leaderless.
Heck-this time around, the party doesn’t even have a chairman. It’s going to be weeks yet before the little elections are held to pick a new DNC chairman-
And so far,- none of the four potential candidates appears to really be impressing anyone, and that includes our own ‘Ben Wickler’- out of Wisconsin, here.
The Midwest democrats rushed to promote him for the national chair given his genuine fundraising talent.... but as he’s gone around and spoken to groups and campaigned for the job...Wickler has said some tone-deaf things, that have people wondering.
For example, we talked about a social media post that he put out just the other day. It simply reeked of the same sort of wokeism and identity politics that have ‘delivered the party’ to this place of defeat and a hollowed-out party tent.
All sorts of DNC leaders and democrat insiders across the country who just had their heinies handed to them because voters rejected their wokeism and tone-deaf, divisive messaging- Wickler’s post had them rolling their eyes and wondering if this clown is the right man for the job.
Democrats are going to be lost for a while because-so far- they refuse to see what contributed to their 2024 losses...and why voters view them as so insufferable and annoying.
The democrats are like the privileged rich girls in class who simply don’t see that all the other kids hate them.
They aren’t hated because they are rich: they are hated because they are insufferable, snobby, self-involved brats.
Well...this is today’s democrat party.
Even Joe Klein pointed out this week that democrats are about to spend the next few weeks worrying over the least inspiring group of DNC candidates that anyone can remember...and will continue to struggle to come up with a rationale for their party’s revival- much less a plan to revive it.
Klein’s right.
My god, Bernie sanders and Ro Khanna and Marc Pocan and the majority of congressional democrats are right back to spewing trite-isms about ‘connecting to the working class’....and ‘making the rich pay their fair share’.... And reviving govt run health care.... and.... (honest to God) talking with voters about ‘industrial policy’.
What?
Yeah. We were talking ‘past’ voters in 2024. We must explain industrial policy to them.
Great.
Have you democrats even-met? -your average voter? Because that person’s a moron.
Please dive into the finer points of what you consider ‘industrial policy’ and how it needs to change.
And -by all means- keep telling people that they aren’t paying their fair share of taxes- because that’s not hitting the mark that you think it is.
The top one percent of American workers pays 40 percent of government’s bills. The top ten percent covers nearly 75 percent of the govt budget.
US income taxes are already highly, highly ‘progressive’. To the point that so few of the voters who they are speaking to in their party even pay taxes-that it doesn’t really affect them.
Honestly. Who on the left is getting riled up about having to pay too much in taxes?
The hemp-hat wearing dillweed who’s on food stamps at 23 and showing up to the antifa rallies?
Or the welfare mom who’s getting the equivalent of a 74-thousand dollar a year salary thanks to all of the govt programs she’s been signed up for.
What democrat voter is this ‘the rich don’t pay their fair share’.... really working on?
As the democrats blather on about ‘climate change’, and taxing the rich, and more govt programs, and pronouns, and ‘trans-rights’.... They are refusing to talk about-
And in mean-actively ignoring-
The things that the American people from all walks of life want addressed: crime, illegal immigration, fake race wars like DEI, inflation.
As a different piece i ran across this week put it: democrats are ‘lost in the funhouse’.
I like the imagery.
Today’s democrat tent is this ‘funhouse’ of leftist and activist causes that no one else cares about-except them. But boy, are they having fun focusing on them and pushing them- while ignoring real life.
Right?
Another problem is: who’s leading this party?
It’s certainly not Biden or Kamala. It’s not Barrack or Hillary or bill. It’s not Gavin Newsome, when, -time and again- it’s proven that he can’t even run his own state.
Is it JB Pritzker? Shiney-face Whitmer?
They’re certainly floating themselves for consideration, but so far, no one’s really shown any excitement or support for them.
The lefty media keeps talking about the blue state governors...but Kathy Hocul is less popular than syphilis in New York state...and we know it’s not going to be Tony Evers. He’s 75 and only interested in his 2pm pudding.
Who’s leading this party?
It’s not Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. They’re both 80 and the socialist progressives hate them. Is it AOC?AOC and Ilhan Omar and the screeching socialists?
No. The country just rejected them.
So, who puts this party back on track?
If you watch Liz Warren-clearly-she thinks it’s’ going to be her. She’s really scrambling for a media profile every day...and insisting she’s going to lead the resistance to Trump this time.
The problem for squats is: 65 to 70 percent of the country doesn’t’ want to -see! -resistance to Trump this time.
Genuinely. I know he won by only a two-million vote margin in the popular vote-
But closing the border, deporting, lowering costs, lowering crime-
Trump’s main agenda is supported by 70 to 80 percent of Americans...and they want to see action on those.
The American people- do not want to see a resistance- currently. In this moment.
Liz warren is misreading the smoke signals, folks.
