You got to love this story: House Speaker Mike Johnson has the activist left in a snit because he has barred transgender women from the women’s bathrooms on capitol hill.
And yes-
This is a response to America’s first transgender person being elected to congress. It’s a person-born male- who now says he’s a woman- and was elected in Delaware.
This pushed the issue of ‘protecting women and girls in their safe spaces’ right in front of congress’s door.
Republican congresswoman Nancy Mace, who is a rape victim and feels unsafe with the idea of men being in women’s bathrooms- immediately introduced a bill requiring people to stick to their ‘biological sex’ when it came to the capitol bathrooms-
And it blew up into a bigger issue over the last few days. Mace’s moves had reporters running to Mike Johnson and other republicans in leadership- trying to turn this into an issue of ‘transphobia’- and insist they all pass some sort of woke litmus test...and buck mace’s agenda.
Mike Johnson didn’t, and GOP members, in general, wouldn’t think of it: not when the whole issue of the activist left going way too far with their gender bullying was such an important issue in the swing states during this year’s election.
And so- speaker Johnson -as speaker of the house-is in charge of the building’s rules and operations- and he announced:
“All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings — such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex,” Johnson said. “It is important to note that each Member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol.”
Yes- this new congresswoman- McBride- will have his/her own bathroom in their office. That doesn’t mean she won’t be caught ‘elsewhere’ around the capitol complex in need of a bathroom though. It’s a massive place.
And so ‘just use the bathroom in your office’ doesn’t really apply, here. That’s not realistic.
What-is-realistic-is to say: if you have male plumbing-use the men’s room.
But as i say- the left-wing reporters rushed to try to catch Johnson in some moment of transphobia. Listen to the way this little pinhead phrases his question-
That is a great response from speaker Johnson. Perfectly appropriate and reasonable to the 90 percent of the American people who are-not-transbullies or alphabet activists...
Moreover- Nancy Mace has been -really good-on this question even as she’s been chased by reporters for three days straight-and says she’s getting death threats from biological crossdressing-men- because she doesn’t want them in girls’ bathrooms.
This came up a few days ago-and liberal Washington was appalled, of course. They wondered: is this a direct reaction to Sarah McBride being elected? Is mace specifically targeting McBride?
Well, of course she was, and yesterday: mace said- yes. This is about the new democrat transgender congresswoman. Yes. That’s why i felt the need to assure our female safe spaces remain safe and comfortable for women in and around this capitol complex. Yes. It’s about her.
That, too, seemed to rattle the wilting ninnies on the left: oh! She admits it!
What?
Those on the activist left still don’t get this: your trans bullying and your fake outrage at every turn of events.... was just soundly rejected by the American people.
Transgender men and women can live their lives as they so choose. The rest of us are largely ‘live and let live’....
But you don’t get a special or elevated status because of the issues you are dealing with...or the group you want to belong to- no.
Dozens to hundreds of women and girls should not have their rights to privacy, security, comfort, fair competition-taken away...because you say you are confused and should take priority. No.
We can all feel bad for you. Empathize with your emotional or mental struggle. Be compassionate about it. But no, you don’t get to call the shots...because you are gender-confused.
And no – you don’t get to insist that ‘your rights’ Trump everyone else. No.
I haven’t agreed with- or appreciated-some of the positions Nancy Mace has taken. I’ve supported others. But in this-she’s dead on correct.
Good for her-because she’s doing it on behalf of all women and girls now-and in the future.
I am certain that there are legions of other women on capitol hill who do not want men in their bathrooms and locker rooms- both lawmakers and staffers. Lobbyists and others...etc.
And yet-they are too afraid to say it because they think they will be fired, attacked, or canceled.
And so, sadly, it takes someone like mace to have the courage to be their voice and push back for them. Especially in pathetically ‘PC’ Washington DC.
I am certain most democrat lawmakers and their staffers don’t’ want men in their bathrooms-but can’t be honest about it because the gender bullies are on their side of the aisle.
In fact-someone on social media had a great idea yesterday: why not have ‘republican women’s’ bathrooms and ‘democrat women’s’ bathrooms...so all the democrat women and their daughters who they bring to the hill...can use the bathroom with the men in make-up.... who they support so much...
While the GOP women can have their privacy.
I think that’s a great idea: if you democrat lawmakers and your woke staffers really want to share bathrooms and locker rooms with men-go for it. Make it happen. If you really think you’re okay with trans-women slopping their penises around in front of you-as you try to shower and dress... Go for it.
But most women and girls-don’t. And their rights and feelings should be considered, too.
Mace has vowed to take this ban at federal facilities nationwide-and she should.
And there’s no better time to do it: when the American people have just spoken so loudly on the issue.
