Some legal roadblocks ahead to right-size the federal government

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are going to run into of legal roadblocks as they try to ‘right size’ our federal government and make it more efficient.

I have no doubt that they are going to have all sorts of ideas-and the ambition to see them thru-

But- they’re ultimately just giving suggestions to the Trump White House...which will have to fight off the deep state, the govt unions, liberal court justices in the lower courts-and very likely- the dc circuit court of appeals... Before they can get most of their reforms done.

Still- the American people want to see the attempt. It’s these entrenched machines that have stymied every past attempt to do this sort of thing...

So, it’s encouraging to hear Vivek Ramaswamy say- he and Elon intent to start with everything that can be undone via executive order.

This is smart.

Because undoing laws or killing off entire departments are likely to take an act of congress to get done-

But anything that’s been put into place via agency or executive over-alone-can be undone the same way-and as we know- way, way, way too often our federal government has been expanded using agency actions and executive orders- sidestepping congress.

DOGE's Vivek Ramaswamy: Much Of The Administrative State Was Created By Executive Action, It Can Be Destroyed By Executive Action

Ramaswamy believes they will be aided by several recent supreme court rulings in which justices have smacked down regulatory overreaches. And, he said, most Americans don’t even understand the true scope of this problem.

I love the enthusiasm and the objective-and if brilliant men like him and Elon musk cannot get at least-some-major remodeling done in our bloated, runaway government, then no one can.

If these two can’t do it- there will be zero expectation that it can be done-

That government can really be reformed to better serve the American people, ever. And that would be disheartening.

Ramaswamy was telling Maria Bartiromo that entire departments can be deleted via executive order.  I hope so-and I’d love to see it.

Dare we dream?

Is it possible?

Man, i hope so.
