Jay Weber Show transcript 4-24-23 6:40am
This story that broke Friday after my show-about how an 18-year-old male student walked into the high school girls shower as four freshman girls were washing off after swimming-is wild.
The girls would be 13 or 14...and lucky. They had their swimsuits on...but this senior student strolled into the shower fully naked and announced...I’m trans...by the way.
Talk about a bold move at 18 and a bold political statement if that’s what he meant it to be. Talk about shock value.
And of course, parents and community members are very alarmed by it, as they should be. The Sun Prairie School District scrambled around to put out the p-r fire over the weekend, and at last word, insisted that they have ‘dealt with it’.
But...ah...
It seems like we need to know-a lot more-about this and what sort of discipline those school officials meted out on the student, as well as what they are going to do to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.
But- it shouldn’t be lost on anyone that it’s the sort of thing that all sorts of us said would be happening, if the trans bullying left had schools normalizing and allowing this notion that boys who say they feel like girls...should be considered girls in every way-including sharing the bathrooms and locker rooms of the biological girls.
WILL Seeking Answers: In its message to the school board, WILL seeks immediate action to protect all students entrusted to the care of SPASD. Such action would include following appropriate Title IX processes in the future, offering victims of sexual harassment supportive measures and the opportunity to file a complaint, conducting investigations when required by Title IX, re-training SPASD staff, disciplining staff that failed to protect students’ rights, and adjusting SPASD policies and guidance documents. Finally, WILL is calling on SPASD to adopt and publish Title IX procedures—as is already required—so that all students know what to do when they are confronted with sex discrimination or sexual harassment.
WILL also filed an open records request, seeking the school’s restroom and locker room guidance that was in effect on March 3, 2023. WILL is also asking when the locker room guidance policy was created (before or after the incident) and what additional communications existed between school faculty regarding the matter.
WILL is correct in saying that parents should have been notified following the incident- including both the parents of the girls and boy involved-and-the entire community.
Instead, sun prairie officials tried to cover it up-which proves which side of the political aisle they are on-doesn’t it?
Sun prairie clearly has a bunch of fawning liberals running their high school-and I’d love to know if they informed the school board members of this incident. I assume not- otherwise- every single member of that school board needs to be asked why they stood silent on it.
It sounds more like the high school administrators and superintendent tried to cover it up on their own. And everything will’s attorneys said is correct here: those who engaged in the cover up violated mandatory reporting laws...
And for their part....over the weekend...district officials are pretending as if they cannot talk about it-and as if privacy issues were the reason that they never notified the public. That’s complete crap.
After the story broke nationwide-the district had to react....and sent out an email to parents saying:
And they don’t detail the steps that have been taken to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
It was ‘will’ and news accounts that provide the details and unless the district officials are going to specifically challenge the details they feel are ‘wrong’ here, I reject their characterization that these are false or inaccurate news reports.
Will is a legal organization whose members-absolutely- know not to put out misinformation- and so far, the district is hiding behind b-s privacy claims.
They don’t need to give us the names of the students. That serves no purpose-other than- to bring potential criminal charges against the boy-who is-after all- 18, and now considered an adult.
Its’ interesting that the school doesn’t mention any legal charges against him. Did they even call the sun prairie police and get them involved?
Again. It sounds like the answer to that is ‘no’.
The email to parents on Friday is signed by the superintendent and assistant superintendents. It sounds like this happened back on March 3rd. Nearly two months ago.
So... did the superintendent ever inform the school board members?
Because this isn’t your ‘run of the mill’ disciplinary problem in a high school. This has criminal implications and political implications dripping off it...and isn’t something that school officials-at any level-should expect they can just ‘contain’ and cover up and deal with themselves.
Meanwhile- the sun prairie school district officials spent the weekend trying to insist that no further questions needed to be asked. As if this had already been handled and wasn’t a big deal.
Part of their release said:
The District’s Inadequate Response: Title IX requires that all reports regarding student sexual harassment be taken seriously and treated fairly. Under federal law, this incident should have been reported to the Title IX coordinator, who should have reached out to the girls, offered supportive measures, and provided them an opportunity to file a complaint. Since the district failed to take these steps, it cannot possibly know whether sexual harassment occurred. This failure violates Title IX. SPASD didn’t even follow its own Locker Room Privacy Policy, and SPASD’s response to the parents involved was inadequate. Moreover, SPASD did not consider its mandatory reporting obligations under state law because this conduct—an adult male exposing his genitals to four freshman girls—could potentially implicate Wisconsin criminal statute, Wis. Stat. § 948.10.
But they won’t detail what their district’s policy and practices are. WILL apparently has to conduct an open records request to get that info-which also shouldn’t be necessary. Any parent or any citizen within that sun prairie school district should be able to get those school policy documents- upon request.
But how pathetic is it- to have sun prairie education leaders try to cover this up?It speaks to a group of people who are as deeply invested in this left-wing indoctrination. Grooming, and normalization campaign as anyone on the activist left.
And with ‘will’ now involved, we will see where this goes. And so close to Madison, you’d think the Madison newspapers would be all over this, at the very least. I didn’t see a story on it posted on their website all weekend.
Nor the journal-sentinel. Pathetic.
I don’t need to go off on yet another ‘biased media’ rant.... but back when I was ajournalist and the profession was full of people who really were trying to be fair and accurate-
Every news outlet was also trying to get the best stories. Gee, it’s kind of what the industry is about: to report the most compelling current events.
How in the hell is an 18-year-old man walking into a high school girls shower room and freaking out four fourteen-year-old girls- not? -some of the most compelling news in Wisconsin from last week?
How do you-as any media outlet whose editors and reporters are trying to be unbiased and report all sides of all stories-
How do you miss or ignore that story?
There’s only one answer to that question: it’s intentional. Wisconsin’s newspapers, the Milwaukee and Madison tv stations. They all saw the story. And any news outlet that didn’t report on it-intentionally- ignored it.
They knew it would reflect poorly on the political left-and the trans bully movement- especially in the wake of president Biden’s new proclamations on title nine.
Which makes it an even more newsworthy story, by the way.
Wisconsin’s news outlets aren’t even pretending to be fair and balanced, anymore- we’ve known that for years-
But apparently, their political bias runs so strong within their newsrooms now-that ‘being profitable’.... selling newspapers...getting clicks...drawing in tv viewers-
You know- reporting the most interesting news and making profits off it-
Is a complete afterthought in these newsrooms, now. They are true- propaganda machines. An accomplice machine-for the American left.
