The defense in the Kyle Rittenhouse case is expected to wrap up their case today, which means closing arguments would then take place, and jury deliberations could even begin, depending on how long the other stuff takes.
The way this has gone, this really shouldn’t take long: there is no way the jury members can follow the judge’s instructions on what these charges mean, and what is required to meet them, and still come up with guilty verdicts on any of them.
A responsible jury must acquit Rittenhouse on all the four serious felony charges and then they- may or may not-convict him of the misdemeanor weapons charge.
But the prosecutors presented no case or serious evidence to counter a ‘self-defense’ claim, or their own initial claim if ‘intentional murder’.
We were presented with -zero- evidence that Kyle Rittenhouse ran down and gunned down one of his victims in cold blood. That was a total falsehood and fantasy that the prosecutor presented on the first day of this trial.
Rittenhouse’s defense closed with a self-defense expert named john black who had reviewed the tapes and the timeline and emphasized to the jury that all these events fell within a window of less than three minutes, and that yes, Rittenhouse had reason to fear for his life and acted in self-defense.
This came after another witness to the first shooting who testified that the first guy Rittenhouse shot, joseph Rosenbaum, did threaten to kill him twice before the physical showdown took place.
This even had a CNN analyst and long-time New Jersey prosecutor, Bob Bianchi, saying that- if the jury somehow returns with a conviction here, he was certain it would be reversed.
Most of the media analysis, yesterday, had moved on from the trial- and had leftists pushing their normal ‘white supremacist’ bologna, but had conservatives making the salient point: pointing out the umbrella over this entire trial:
That- if democrat mayors and governors had moved to stop the rioting in other cities in the months previous- the Kenosha riots never would have happened.
And more appropriately: if Governor Evers would have responded to the early requests by Kenosha officials to call out the national guard- this wouldn’t have happened.
This Rittenhouse shooting and the fact that these riots got so bad ...is a terrible indictment of the democrat mayors, governors, and prosecutors, in these cities...as well as the democrat lawmakers and talking heads who were more interested in excusing away the thuggish and criminal behavior of antifa and BLM to score cheap political points.
We talked about this a lot over the last two years: the democrats came to see BLM and antifa as their own, leftist brown shirt squad. Their squad of thugs who were going to force the socialists change onto this country, or at least spark the lawlessness and chaos that was going to have American voters begging for more big government control.
And it backfired on them.
Tucker Carlson gets it right in one of his editorials this week. The Rittenhouse saga is just a byproduct of the left’s decision to embrace violence as a political tactic.

Yep: democrats applauded the riots as they happened and called them ‘mostly peaceful protests’...and their accomplices in the media spread the lies...
And pathetic panderers like Tony Evers and Maggie Gau decided they’d rather let Kenosha burn to advance the leftist cause then protect the people of Kenosha.
If you remember-it was only-after-the night of the Rittenhouse shooting that terrible tony finally agreed to send in a few hundred national guardsmen.
This was after days of begging for him to do so from both local Kenosha officials and people like congressman Bryan Steil.
Evers only decided to move-days- after he denied federal help from president trump, and only after two thug protestors lay dead.
And even then? What was Evers’ first instinct?
It was the same as Biden’s: to label Kyle Rittenhouse and others who came out to do the job that he wouldn’t let the national guard do, as vigilantes and white supremacists.

Greg and I were talking off-air yesterday and he was saying that the lefties on social media are conveniently the timeline of events down in Kenosha and how the governor initially abandoned them to the rioters.
And I said: the people of Racine and Kenosha haven’t forgotten.
I’ve done a few events down there over the last few months, and the voters of that part of SE Wisconsin remember -exactly- who screwed them and let Kenosha burn. Tony Evers.
It is locked in their long-term memory, and they won’t forget it next fall. They can’t wait to vote this clown out of office in Racine and Kenosha County.
