Boy...the DC media sure is trying to make Nancy Pelosi’s January sixth commission ‘a thing’.
This is proof that what we conservatives were saying, related to a bipartisan panel, is correct. A few squishy republicans like Mitt Romney fell for this idea that an ‘official, bipartisan investigation’ was needed to look at the capitol riot...when one really wasn’t...
No fewer than ten congressional committees and four law enforcement agencies are looking into it...
But Pelosi and the accomplice media sold a ‘bipartisan panel’ as something akin to the 9-11 or Warren commissions, when it was going to be nothing of the sort.
Instead, it was going to be a commission that Pelosi and her hyper partisan democrats were going to control completely. It was going to be another sham ‘impeachment committee’ of the sort that the reprehensible Adam Schiff ran for Pelosi...that had a few republicans on it who were not allowed to call any witnesses. Do anything. Question the process. It was a rigged game-meant to ‘get Trump’ and the only reason Pelosi and Schiff put a few republicans on it was to give it the air of legitimacy. Give it the air of bipartisanship, or of a serious commission.
It wasn’t, and we all quickly learned it wasn’t, the minute Schiff and Jerrold Nadler started using it as a way to build a fake Ukrainian smear against Trump that they could use in their fake impeachment.
And so, no serious Republican or conservative was going to fall for this trick a second time, and so, no matter how loud Pelosi and the democrats and their accomplices at CNN and MSNBC shrieked about the need for a bipartisan commission on the Capitol riot, they weren’t going to get it.
The republicans did not play along, and the idea died on the vine. And so now, three months later, seeing some political advantage in trying to form a committee so that they can form a smear to be used next fall.... Pelosi has announced she’s forming a house committee...on her own.
Fine. Whatever.
This news came as no surprise to anyone but is so nakedly fraudulent that the announcement got very little news coverage outside of Washington DC. No one cares. Everyone knows the panel is-immediately-illegitimate if it’s just handpicked Pelosi democrats on a smear mission.
Pelosi, herself, is not even really going to pretend, anymore.
This is so rigged, that she isn’t even going to allow republicans to serve on it, except maybe one.
Pelosi isn’t even going to -attempt! - to create the optics of a fair and bipartisan panel.That is how ignored and illegitimate this committee is going to be. And everyone in dc knows it.
And that’s not to say that Pelosi and Schiff won’t still use it to generate some smears related to the capitol riots that they won’t use on republicans next fall, anyway. Everyone-absolutely-assumes there will be smears and lies that the Dems will try to sell to voters, claiming this panel ‘discovered’ them...
But the point is: no one in DC is even pretending that this committee is anything more than a smear machine that Pelosi-being the speaker of the house- can set up and fund and abuse- using taxpayer money and the resources of the federal government.
There should-absolutely-be more outrage over this nakedly partisan and scummy stunt, but hey, this is ‘where we are now’ in American politics.
Trump broke the left’s outrage meter. Their raging anti-trump hatred broke the right’s outrage meter. And so, even scummy moves like this- done right out in the open- don’t register any outrage anymore.
And yesterday, almost as an afterthought, dame Pelosi added a twist to her now-entirely partisan, witch hunt, smear panel:she told reporters that maybe.... maybe...she would allow a single republican to serve on this committee.
The reason she would do this is- also- not difficult to cypher:if she could find a trump-hating republican in the house who was willing to be used as a mouthpiece to spew out the same smears...with an ‘r’ behind their name...that would add legitimacy to the coming lies, too, wouldn’t it.
I think you know what I mean: if one lies this committee cooks up is: Kevin McCarthy’s staffers let rioters into the building...
And you have got Adam Schiff or Maxine Waters saying it...well. Come on. No one on the right or in the middle of the aisle is going to believe it.
But...if....oh.... republican Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger are saying it.... well...How many gullible people get sucked into believing it because...her? It is coming from a republican.
A. quote...’honest’...republican is willing to buck his or her party to get the truth.
This is how any fake or ginned up smear from this panel could have more force or legitimacy behind it: if Pelosi could find a few trump hating republicans in the house who were willing to go along with the smears...because they feel wounded by their own party.
And there-are- such members.
I just mentioned two of them: Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are two house republicans who voted to impeach trump and have never been fans and have taken heat from the grassroots members of their own party for doing so. Correct?
And so- would either of them be willing to serve on the committee?
I am going to give Liz Cheney credit for having some brains and tact and integrity and say ‘no’. She would not be willing to do it.
And if she shocks me, and does, I’ll have to re-evaluate my long, long, long time support of Liz Cheney as a smart, tough, no-nonsense conservative.
I have always loved Liz Cheney and still do-
Her hatred of trump aside. She comes from that bush family-neo-con strain of conservatives who trump took the party away from, so i get it.
But- would the weasily, duplicitous, pathetic, smarmy Adam Kinzinger of Illinoisbe a republican who would sit on this panel and then trash fellow republicans with smears afterward?
Oh. Absolutely. I think Kinzinger would leap at the chance. His district in Illinois is about to be gerrymandered, or ‘re-drawn’, right out of existence by Illinois democrats....and all he is ever really wanted, as a congressman, is attention.
Adam Kinzinger, from day one in office, has had the sole mission of being a mavericky media star. You could tell that he -desperately, desperately wanted to be seen as some mavericky ‘John McCain’ type the moment he won office.
In short-he wanted to be a republican AOC. He wanted to be the squawking attention-getter whose word everyone hung on...
And instead...he’s just turned into a pathetic clown who has destroyed any credibility that he might have had, or won, over time.
And so, if Nancy Pelosi decides to put a republican mouthpiece on this bogus capitol riot committee- I would not be surprised if it’s Kinzinger.
I would also point out that Pelosi has only said ‘maybe’.
She- ‘might’- add a single republican to this panel, is what she told reporters.
I read that as: she will have her minions approach Cheney, and Kinzinger, and Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio, who Trump just blasted...
Or a Fred Upton of Michigan...
They will approach some of the 35 house republicans who voted to form the bipartisan commission and/or voted to impeach trump in January...
And if one of them says ‘yes’ and expresses the appropriate level of hatred toward their party and expresses the willingness to smear their own party with the fake findings of Pelosi’s panel.
Well. Then we might see a republican member of this position.
Otherwise? No.
And so...I know it’s inside baseball...but let’s now watch to see whether this comes about, and if so, who the republican sellout is.
I would be shocked if it’s Liz Cheney...or someone who might have a problem with trump but still otherwise supports the party.
I will not be a bit shocked if it is Adam Kinzinger. The guy’s a clown who has burned every bridge in dc and Illinois....trying to get a post-congress gig at CNN or MSNBC.
And yes, one of those lefty outlets will offer him a pundit job after he leaves congress, because he’s the sort of alleged conservative that they love: one who likes to trash his own side of the aisle and his own party...more than he wants to criticize the democrats.
Heck...Joe Scarborough fits that mold, and he has got his own show on MSNBC.
