Thirty years after the Berlin Wall we've forgotten the truth of Socialism

We are 30 years from one of the greatest events in human history.

In November of 1989, the Berlin Wall fell. The communist government of East Germany decided not to murder its own people, and allowed East and West Berlin to reunite.

It is one of the greatest victories for freedom we've ever seen.

But for many young people in America, it's a non issue.

Polls show an alarmingly high number of young people in this country like the idea of socialism.

It makes sense. They are too young to know about the reality of what happens when the government uses its power 'for the people.' Millennials and Gen-Zers have never seen the bread lines, or the gulags, or the millions of people who needed to be 're-educated.'

Even if there a lesson about the Berlin Wall and the end of socialism across eastern Europe, it's likely not a lesson on human freedom.

Young people in this country have never been so free. Maybe that's why they are ready to dump that freedom for the empty promises of socialism.
