Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has called for an expansion of The Hop, the city's new streetcar line, up Wisconsin Ave. and past the Fiserv Forum before next summer's Democratic National Convention. As The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports, though, the price tag for extending the line just 0.4 miles would be a shockingly, laughably high $28 million.
That would amount to $13,257 per foot of new track. That's $1,104 per inch! It's $434 per centimeter and $43 per millimeter
