Life Is Not Fair

Life is not fair.

That used to be a fact. Now it is a complaint.

The generation who grew up getting participation trophies is now surprised and angry that the real world is harsh.

That life is not fair is also being used as a selling point for liberals.

Too much student loan debt? It's not fair that you should have to pay it back.

Not enough job skills to get a job? It's not fair that you should have to work in the first place.

And don't even get me started on the 'It's not fair' reaction to the college admissions scandal.

Sure, life is not fair, but it's pretty much equally unfair.

If it unfair that some kids got bribed into top universities, is it fair that some kids aren't smart enough to get in?

What's fair about good looking people, or good athletes, or talented musicians. For everyone of them, there are a bunch of us ugly, untalented mopes just trying to get by.

Life in America is not fair, but it is what you make of it. The same crowd who is complaining about life being unfair also seems to be the crowd who reject the idea that they are responsible for their own lives.

Life is not fair. Accept it. Then you can set about making your life better.
