It is by far the most watched meteor shower of the year and it reaches its peak this weekend, just in time for some nice weather! The Perseid meteor shower is considered the most watched of the year because it comes during the summer when the only thing you have to worry about is mosquitoes. Other showers can come during the winter months when temperatures can put a damper on sky-watching. This year should be especially good because the night begins with a thin crescent moon that will set early giving us a very dark sky making even the faintest meteors visible.
