What is “The Wisconsin Way”?

“The Wisconsin Way” is a shorthand reference, used both statewide and nationwide,  referring to an improved business climate, commonsense government reforms, commitment to economic growth, and the improvement of the overall quality-of-life. Over the past several years, Wisconsinites from both the public and private sector have shown leadership, courage, and passion, in their efforts to make our state a better place to live for all of its citizens. “The Wisconsin Way” has been so effective in defining government’s mission and spurring economic activity, many other states have modeled their laws, policies, and reforms after Wisconsin’s example.

“The Wisconsin Way Awards”

The inaugural Wisconsin Way Awards, presented by News-Talk 1130 WISN and Annex Wealth Management, are offered to Wisconsinites or Wisconsin-based institutions that have made significant contributions to our state’s status, vitality, and livability. The Awards are offered in humble recognition of the profound impact of those contributions. The Wisconsin Way Awards shine a spotlight on exceptional Wisconsinites who have shown dedication to serve others in a positive and productive manner, doing so with sincere humility and good will.

There are five “Wisconsin Way Award” categories:

Future Leader of the Year Award: Given to a man or woman under 40, who has shown the vision and energy to help Wisconsin advance and prosper in the years to come.

Medical Leader of the Year Award: Given to the healthcare professional or institution that has demonstrated innovation, dedication, and excellence in the field of medicine.

Patriot of the Year Award: Given to the person or institution that has made significant contributions in support of members of the military, law enforcement personnel, or first-responders.

Political Leader of the Year: Given to the man, woman, or institution that has displayed courage and integrity in pursuit of government reform and efficiency.

CEO of the Year Award: Given to the business leader who has made lasting contributions to the quality of life in Wisconsin, economically, socially, and culturally, in both the past and present.

The 2018 Wisconsin Way Awards Dinner

On the evening of Wednesday November 14, the recipients of 2018 Wisconsin Way Awards will be honored at a dinner at the Italian Community Center, 631 E. Chicago Street, in Milwaukee’s Third Ward.
