Rep. Glenn Grothman discusses his Competency-based Education Act bill with Vicki McKenna and what it aims to do for higher education in Wisconsin.
Grothman's bill would allow for greater flexibility at the college level for students to take the courses they need to graduate, which in turn would reduce student loan debt. The bill would amend the Higher Education Act of 1965, and has been co-sponsored by Bryan Steil and Mike Gallagher.
The bill comes at a time where Democratic presidential candidates are offering to wipe out student loan debt without the borrowers having to lift a finger and promising free college for everyone.
