What does justice and peace look like?

The chant this weekend will undoubtedly be 'No Justice, No Peace.'

But what will that look like?

The four former police officers responsible for George Floyd's death have all been arrested and charged. The officer most responsible for Floyd's death is looking at murder charges.

Originally that's what the protesters wanted. They wanted the officers arrested and charged that happened. But the protests continue, and they turned violent.

The demand now, outside of some sort of amorphous 'justice', is to end systematic racism.

But what would that look like?

That's part of the problem. The ever-shifting goal posts mean there will no justice that satisfies the mob. And that means there will likely never be any peace that satisfies them either.
