Feel good gun control laws won't help.

If there was a gun control law that would make use safe, most Americans would support it.

All of the Democrats who are running for president are promising safety with their gun plans. But in reality they are talking about safe space kind of safety. Meaning emotional safety. Allowing liberals to feel safe from being made uncomfortable by guns.

The proposal from Joe Biden to ban rifles that take more than one bullet, Beto O'Rourke's plan to force gun owners to sell their guns, or whatever the rest of them want are as much about making liberals feel safe. Those laws (which won't happen) won't do anything to make anyone actually safer.

And that's the problem. Laws based off of feeling almost always end poorly. Legislation based on emotion is certainly going to lead to unintended consequences.

There is a conversation to be had about guns in this country. But as long as half the political spectrum in the U.S. is more concerned with feeling safe than actually being safe, that conversation will not happen.
