As is always the case, the MSM is burying the headlines and burying the most important information to come out of yesterday’s ‘Epstein theater”, which...by the way.... amounted to ‘nothing’ in the larger sense...just as i predicted it would.
These victims of Epstein’s who spoke on the capitol steps were good. They were compelling.
But their appearance didn’t add anything...or spark any new scandal...or implicate anyone else...or target trump....
There just wasn’t any ‘there’ there...compared to what Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie were promising.
But-The most important takeaway-to me- is that none of these ten victims ever encountered president Donald Trump- or President Bill Clinton- at any of the properties where the sex crimes took place....and none of them were ever victimized, or ‘felt up’ or sexualized by either Trump or Clinton.
To me? That’s the big headline coming out of yesterday’s theatre. All the rest is pretty much what we expected and already knew.
They also agreed-along with their attorney- there was no ‘client list’. There isn’t any name of ‘pervert billionaires’ that is being hidden from the public.
So we now have that confirmed-right from the victim’s mouths.... which only...reaffirms my take from yesterday: i simply cannot imagine ‘where this scandal goes’.... Now, it’s clear there is no scandal.
At least not related to any client list or extortion tapes...or smears against Trump etc.
I am not discounting sexual abuse. I am not saying Epstein doesn’t deserve to be burning in hell for his crimes. In that sense, this scandal is very real-and the fact that it took so long to expose...and then was largely covered up as Epstein got off lightly.
All of that- all of that- is still scandalous and we should get to the bottom of it.
I’m talking in political terms-and as it relates to the democrats thinking they could smear trump and republicans with this Epstein scandal over the next year.
There’s just.... nothing there.
And this event confirmed it yesterday, with the ten victims who have gone public saying they never encountered Trump or Clinton....and with their attorney confirming that there is no client list...or even a ‘long, informal list’ of perverts.
Their attorney, Bradley Edwards, said that-while they were all abused by Epstein...only a few of them were ever ‘provided to some of his friends as he put it.
Even Edwards said- these victims were not passed around to all of Epstein’s friends. It was a much smaller group of perverts than that.
All this again verifies what Epstein’s two main defense attorneys have said-both liberal lawyers... And what Ghislaine Maxwell said in those new DOJ tapes.
There’s just .. no... political scandal here. At least not for Trump and republicans.
And this is why President Trump keeps calling this a democrat hoax. He’s not talking about the overall claims against Epstein.
He’s talking about the democrat effort to tie it to him.
Trump said again yesterday: he doesn’t want congress wasting time on this because it’s just democrat game-playing- meant to distract from all the great victories he and his team have had over the last 8 months...on behalf of the American people.
The fake news outlets keep portraying this as trump calling the whole Epstein scandal a hoax. He’s not. He’s calling the democrat’s attempt to tie him to it and distract the American people with it a hoax.
That is a perfectly reasonable take from Donald Trump...given that he’s been cleared by the ‘main players’ in this Epstein drama in about five different ways now.
At some point, it should be acknowledged that he wasn’t involved in any impropriety- and so there’s nothing scandalous- or even particularly interesting here- as it relates to him.
Now-that said- I’m not against getting all the govt and court documents out there- into the public. Nor are Trump or republicans on capitol hill.
In a move that was -really deflating- to congressman Massie and Khana and their alarmist rhetoric....
House republicans released 33-thousand documents that you can pick thru yourself-as an American citizen-if you really want to- on two databases of information- which are just the first batches of information to be released.
It was-republican congressmen-who subpoenaed the dept of justice to get them released-and it was Trump’s DOJ and attorney general who released them-with more to come.
I understand that the immediate whine from the left was ‘they only released documents that were already public’.... But that’s not true.
Many of the initial batches of documents have already been made public, yes. But the earlier ones were more heavily redacted-
And- there were far more documents released this time-for the first time.
And so, there are new documents that have been released-with more to follow-as fast as the DOJ can redact the names of the victims...etc.
There’s just no scandal here, and the harder the democrats are going to try to create one, the more it’s going to backfire.
This is already a ‘non-story’ that no one in flyover country cares about-and it won’t amount to anything between now and next fall.
It’s sillier for democrats to keep wasting their time on it...
But if they want to? Fine.
And as for the attempt by Massie and Khanna to ‘force a house vote’ to have the files released...speaker Mike Johnson has apparently told his caucus that all these files are already going to be released...and so he won’t waste time on it.
That has most house members saying, fine, let’s move on. But I say Johnson should simply hold the vote. Give the whiners what they want. The resolution means nothing.So... give them their vote and move on.
As James Comer, the chairman of the oversight committee said Tuesday- his investigation is already ‘way ahead’ of Massie and Khanna’s little move
