For what it’s worth- California democrats say would prefer Gavin Newsom over Kamala Harris as a presidential candidate in 2028.
See? Californians just proving they’re still racist, sexist crackers...going with the blow-dried white boy instead of an accomplished, brilliant woman...
But-come on: if we, as a country, had to pick between Newsom and Harris, the country would pick Newsom. We’ve already seen Kamala Harris up close. She’s a walking disaster.Genuinely a dimwit who has risen through the ranks while pretending to be smart- while yes-
While being elevated purely based on her sex and skin color. I don’t think there’s any honest way to argue Kamala Harris was ‘the best candidate’ for any position she’s ever held in elected office.
And hey-Gavin Newsom is just as bad: he’s another vapid rich kid who has gotten every break in life to end up where he is- but if you force us to pick between the two.... Gavin or Kammy...
Well-that’s like choosing to drink either gasoline or turpentine...but...i guess we’ll go with turpentine.
I find it laughable that Politico even polled this question, but they did:

I would suggest that this poll of California democrats-means nothing- especially given that-in any presidential primary-by the time it gets to California, late in the process, the party’s choice is normally made. The earlier states weed out the losers and the party’s normally have a clear frontrunner by the time California’s turn rolls around.
Moreover, a different poll put Gavin Newsom’s national popularity at 27 percent. Just 27 percent. Oof.
And the guy really is- a slick dope who stands for nothing and has spent a career shifting around positions to simply match up with the moment.
Former house speaker Kevin McCarthy is also from California, and said in an interview this week, I’ve known Newsom since our college days, and he really is a weasel. A chameleon who simply changes to ‘whatever’ suits him in the moment.
He also-screams-arrogant elite. The instances during covid in which Newsom-as governor-made it clear that the stay-at-home orders and business shutdowns didn’t pertain to him and his friends- still rub a lot of Californians the wrong way.
But-even this early in the primary process- it’s funny:
It’s already evident that- like kamala in 2020- you can already tell that Newsom’s own party members don’t like him or appreciate him.
Really.
It reminds me how-in 2020- from moment one- no one was buying Kamala Harris’ fake nonsense. No one warmed up to her. The black community’s voters could tell she was a fraud.
Well-
You get that sort of vibe when it comes to Newsom and his fellow party members. No one particularly likes or respects this guy.
Gavin Newsom is the annoying nerdy kid with the rich parents who have done everything they can to make him cool and popular...
But ...he’s still a dork. He’s still smarmy and off-putting when he opens his mouth.
It’s a different quality than Hillary and Kamala have I would talk about them as ‘inherently unlikeable’ people.
I had a strong feeling that neither one of them would win based on that fact, alone: both women are just...innately, inherently, unlikable.
Gavin Newsom’s ‘not that’.
But he -is-a person who you can quickly sniff out as a fraud...due to his annoying personality and insincerity.
He’s also got a track record of further destroying California -in just about every way- since he’s been governor.
California has the highest number of illegals of any state. It has the highest number of welfare cases of any state- and yet- it has the highest unemployment rate of any state.
(I mean, how do you pull that off?)
It has the highest taxes and regulations of just about any state- to the point that it has driven off businesses and jobs for many years now.
Did you see the story yesterday about how the CEO of Bed-Bath-and-Beyond is ‘done’ being careful and ready to ‘get real’.
This was a refreshing moment: the guy-blasted- California for being such a ridiculous and extreme anti-business state. He announced:
Fantastic.
And you know what the leftist’s reaction is going to be to this: something myopic and snotty: it just means that if you want to buy crappy bath towels, you’ll have to get them somewhere else....
You just know that democrats-and Newsom, himself-will have some snotty and dismissive response to this-
But this is genuinely the way California’s democrats-over time-have simply ruined that state. Newsom is the latest destroyer...with his poor policies...but he’s just one of a long line of far-left fools who have held public offices there and used their positions to ruin a ‘once great’ state.
And he wants to be the next president?
Come on.
I don’t see that happening.
And if we are on ‘Newsom related’ news- his effort to redo California’s congressional maps is likely to bring him more headaches-than success- between now and the next election.
We’ve talked about the poll that shows 2/3 of Californian’s are against the idea and how Arnold Schwarzenegger and other ‘good govt’ groups are going to run a 100-million-dollar campaign against Newsom’s plans....
Which could be stopped short if voters rejected a ballot proposition in November that would allow Newsom and the democrats to ignore the state’s maps commission.
Well, there’s also this news: the leaders of California’s republican party say their lawyers have come up with at least eighteen ways to challenge the legality and constitutionality of Newsom’s move here-if he tries it.
Wow.
These republicans insist they cannot only be on defense. They need to be offended and so they will be filing pre-emptive lawsuits and arguments in court and in the legislature.
It’s a smart plan... And as they are doing this-
In the Newsom camp- his advisors are apparently insisting that hey- this is going to get Gavin at least 100-million dollars in free advertising as he launches a bid for president- because any attention is good attention- and the more the republicans attack him and hate him the better he’s going to look to the democrat voters.
And that might be true, unfortunately.
But...my take would be Newsom doesn’t ‘wear well’ with people. The more you see him, the less you like him. And the more you hear him, the more you realize he’s completely full of BS from his first word to his last.
