I want to pick up where I left off, talking about president trump taking over the Washington dc police department’ and flooding the district with national guardsmen and federal agents and prosecutors to help.
Trump’s team plans to bring ‘numerous’ and ‘various’ forces of the federal government into play, here, over the next several weeks and months, to take a sizable bit out of dc’s lawlessness. And it’s long overdue.
I said earlier.... I give Trump credit for caring enough to do this-after decades of presidents and congresses basically decided that- no matter how bad the district gets- they’re not going to step in or demand better.
The last president who did- by the way? -was Bill Clinton... In reaction to the Marion Barry scandal.
In 1995- Clinton signed a bill into law that Newt Gingrich and the republican congress had put together....to manage the district’s finances after Barry was exposed as a prostitute using crackhead.
And so-even in this-you leftists in the audience-
Even on something like this - democrats have done it first...and so...’double check’ your definition of a dictator.
I would have stood up and applauded -any - democrat president over the last 40 years who would have been concerned enough about crime in DC-and across America- that they would act to take control of the situation and encourage congress and other local and state governments to do the same.
There is no reason-at all-that we, the people of the greatest country in the world- need to put up with this level of crime, depredation, and hooliganism in our communities.
No reason at all.
I told the earlier audience: we-used to have- democrats and left-wingers who cared about lowering crime, too.
We used to have democrats who supported doling out consequences to criminals. And locking them up.That was before this ‘new breed’ of American democrat who’s just an America-hating socialist hell-bent on destroying the country-and destroying traditional America.
One of the best ways-over time-to force a country to its knees and end its prosperity- is to make it unsafe for everyone. Correct?
And so, today’s Soros DAs and Marxist democrats have been doing their ‘level best’ to do that in our major cities for the last 20 years, at least.
And their grip on these cities is mostly snowballing.
Trump is right to step in...and hopefully...show ‘by example’ that there is a better way-
And show the American people who are living in all these other big, blue cities- that they-can! -have safe neighborhoods and communities if their elected officials are interested in delivering that to them.
But step one by Trump is to take over the Washington dc police force and kick their useless, DEI hire of a chief, to the side...
Then mobilizing about 800 troops to assist the officer in logistics and transportation. As well as guarding federal and law enforcement facilities. Guardsmen won’t be able to make arrests...but they will be able to detain suspects until local police arrive and /or aid in keeping the city safe in other ways.
Trump said yesterday, there are about a dozen federal agencies who will be playing a role here.
The FBI and ATF will have a role. The federal prosecutors will have more of a role-
In fact- the newly appointed leader of the u-s district in DC-Judge Janine Piro- spoke at the president’s news conference yesterday morning and said- her focus is going to be on upping the consequences for the teenagers who are currently wilding and terrorizing dc neighborhoods and gathering places in the evening. She was- hot-about the fact that the local laws DC leaders are following-expressly- give all of these punks a pass.
And the reaction to this is about what you’d expect: most of the democrat leaders and mouthpieces came unglued and leapt to label trump a strongman dictator...as most republicans leapt to support him.
But- funny thing here- my friends: the people who live and work in dc are by-and-large leftists, yes, but they are also the people being victimized by the crime. Nearly everyone in dc-regardless of politics-is fed up with DC crime...
And so- I think the democrats pulled their typical boner move here- and leapt to reflexively ‘fight trump’....and in doing so...are defending the wrong side of the argument.
Basically, everyone from Hakeem Jefferies and chuck Schumer ‘on down’.... on the left yesterday...was saying ‘by god, we will not stand by as president trump and his people lower crime and move to keep people safe’.
We will have a safe Washington DC...over my dead body.
What?
Is that really where you want to end up on this hakeem? Chucky? Tammy? Gwen?
Dc has a serious crime problem? Or it hasn’t been this safe in 30 years?
And which seems more credible or logical to the people who are actually living and working in dc?
As a town hall piece pointed out: only about seven percent of voters in Washington DC voted for Trump last fall...but none of them are inclined to oppose a crackdown on crime there.
Yes, the lefties and organizations who you’d expect to chime in and oppose this- oppose it- sure.
The democratic mayor’s association leapt to denounce it.
But- of course they would. Murial Bowser has been yet another awful democrat mayor. Of course, they are going to give her and the other Soros-style socialists who are running the dc council cover.
Are you shocked that the association that’s representing all of these failed democrat mayors across the country would think that way?
Of course not.
But this is another 80/20 issue that the democrats are leaping to be on the wrong side of. And all republicans need to do is-watch them screw up and come off as loony and extreme, again.
