All those Democrat predictions have been wrong

Jay Weber Show transcript 7-29-25

Yesterday, I referenced a poll by the Wall St journal that shows 47 percent of the American people now rate the economy as excellent or good...and that represents an 11-point swing in sentiment over just the last three months.

Other polls have shown as much as a 23-point swing in ‘confidence in the economy.

And this comes as wall street experts have dropped their recession talk....and predictions of slumping markets or stagflation.

All those predictions have been wrong.

And there is no doubt that the American economy is getting stronger-across nearly all sectors-and that the American people are starting to see it- or feel it.

We saw an economy during Donald Trump’s first term that- amazingly- kept records when it came to the government data and the various ways, we measure an economy.

It wasn’t just a ‘few different metrics that trump’s term one economy was stellar. It was proven by every official government metric as well as the ones that are done in the private sector, by Wall St analysts and independent economists.

Trump’s first term economy before the covid hit was- with no exaggeration- one of the best that has ever been measured in the history of America.

And now he’s trying to do it again...which is a very all order...given what Joe Biden and the democrats ‘left him’ after their disastrous four years of runaway inflation and high interest rates and a flood of illegals to screw up hiring...etc.

What a mess trump inherited.

And yet- just six months into this second term...trump has the border closed and at least ‘some’ illegal aliens self-deporting...as ice deports others....

And many of those government metrics by which we measure the economy are finally showing positive signs, again.

And we’ve seen this numerous times now-an optimistic, pro-America president who offers low taxes and incentivizes work, success, investing and entrepreneurship creates a massive amount of growth and-additional- tax revenue.

Joe Biden and his turds still wanted to call this ‘trickle down economics’...but it’s not.

It’s basic economics 101: if you allow people to keep more of their own paychecks...you’ll see more tax money flowing into the government coffers .... because we tax money ‘when it moves’. As it’s spent or invested.

Correct?

And that’s why the 2017 Trump/Ryan tax cuts on both individuals and businesses led to at least a trillion dollars in additional yearly revenue for the federal government...

Even though we had ‘cut’ taxes.  Cut taxes. It moves more. It gets taxed more. You bring in more tax money.

It’s not hard to understand-and yet- democrat leaders in this country- over generations-have refused to learn the lesson or see the connections.

Instead, they relentlessly talking about ‘taxing the rich’...which really means taxing the middle class and stifling growth and prosperity.

And so- with inflation finally flattening out at under three percent...and wages finally growing again... Working families are finally getting ahead.

Because after a terrible stretch like Biden’s- this can be ‘turned around’ for working families in two ways, either wage rising faster than inflation or prices are falling.  And just six months into the trump term two...we are seeing wages rising faster than inflation...and prices have at least ‘leveled of’.... if they haven’t been exactly falling on most items or services yet.

And by next fall? These ‘Trump effects’ should be seen and felt ‘more obviously’ in most worker’s paychecks and family budgets.America will be ‘back on track’...

As i said yesterday- already- we are seeing the professional class-and the business class- starting to react to the calm, competent economic leadership of trump and his team- after a four-year Biden disaster.

Yes. A lot of them still have Biden PTSD, but it’s starting to subside.

Meanwhile-the democrats and their most ardent supporters are deciding to double and triple down on socialism and ‘America hating’.

I’d say this is remarkable to watch- but it’s not: it’s about what i’d expect from these idiots.

It was also yesterday that we were talking about

How-

If you look at the individual issues, republicans are leading democrats on every single one-aside from health care.

The democrat party platform is so extreme and so ‘counter’ to what Americans want- that republicans are dominating on every single issue.

Immigration, crime, foreign policy, economic policy.... etc.

Only on the very generic issue of ‘health care’ do democrats have a more popular position-and i dare a democrat voter to actually explain what the democrat party’s position on health care is right now. Because they couldn’t.

And so- one of the most amazing developments over the last six months- has been to see most of todays’ democrats ‘triple down’ on the socialism.

Triple down on their highly unpopular platform. And insist-by God- we are ramming this down the American people’s throats if it kills us.

And it just might kill them-as a party.

I got to this very late in the show yesterday, and so I’ll cover a little bit of the same ground:

Normally, when a party controls all three levers of legislative power in dc, it only lasts for two years, until the voters can hand control of congress back to the ‘out’ party- so we have ‘shared government’.

Historically, the American people, as an amorphous mass, have liked the idea of ‘split government’.

And so, every historical trend points toward the democrats having a good year next year and retaking control of the house of representatives -at least-

And maybe even retaking control of the senate.

Well-the senate map sets up so poorly for them that retaking the senate probably won’t happen. But...retaking the house? -should be a given.

But so far-based on the experts and the polls and the larger house map-there’s at least a decent chance that the republicans -not only keep-but expand on-their house majority.

That’d be basically unheard of, and it would be an historical anomaly that gave president trump and his party four years-

Four years - of both congressional and presidential control.

Wow.

And sure, democrats might get their act together and might rally next summer.... But there’s a better chance -as of today-that the republicans are the party that grows their house majority next fall-not the democrats.

That would allow Donald Trump and republicans to at least get some more reforms done in what would normally be ‘lame duck years’ for an outgoing president.

Normally? 2026 thru 2028-if democrats control the house and/or senate-it’s a legislative stalemate. The democrats will simply refuse to act on anything trump and the GOP really want. They’d be able to block any more reforms or reductions in spending....and the last two years of trump would be limited to only what he could do via executive order...after winning court cases that could also stretch out until after he leaves office.

Having the democrats get their act together before now and next fall-and have the right platform-and the right messaging- and be in the right ‘head space’ to appeal to most of the American people again....is the democrat’s best way to stop this.

Instead? They and their activist class are ‘going the other way’. Running further toward the socialist extreme.

I asked listeners yesterday to consider that-   after the democrat’s across-the-board defeat last fall.... donations to the democrats are down dramatically.

The DNC is really hurting right now, as are most early 2026 candidates.

Except. For. Their most radical candidates.

Honestly: democrat insiders admit-all the excitement and donations under the democrat tent right now- are going to the socialist progressives.

Translation: the grassroots of today’s democrat party is-still-only interested in America-hating and killing off capitalism and redistributing wealth and turning us socialist.

How does that jibe with what they ‘need to do’ to start winning elections in the swing districts again?

It doesn’t.

If the party platform and dem candidates either ‘stay where they are’ or move even further left over the next year?... They are screwed next fall.

But the attempt at a more moderate makeover after losing last November ‘didn’t take’.

The democrat leaders and groups preaching change and insisting the grassroots needed to wise up- lost the argument.
